TIP: I've left this tip on other sites and it seems to be helpful. immediately after unboxing, and before installing the other parts, plug it in and let it run for 5 or 10 minutes to make sure it actually works. This way if you have to take it back to the store, you don't have a lot of pieces to take back off and repack. I learned this the hard way.
Ty. Good idea. I just ordered my mom an AC unit. Which im going to have to install it myself
Excellent heads up! Thank you!
Excellent. I had not thought about this. And about to install. So thanks
Seems obvious but something I probably would not have done. Thanks!
Good advice--thank you!
As a single lady living on my own and doing everything on my own for the first time in my life, stuff like this is so intimidating and overwhelming. I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing half the time. This video was SO helpful! Thank you so much! My window unit is getting delivered today and I feel so much more comfortable and confident after watching this 😊😊😊
Me too single older but o think after watching this I can do it .. thank you
I watched 2 videos prior to yours, the others skipped steps and didn’t show the whole process. Your video shows each step start to finish! Thank you!
I dont usually review shit but I’m hella baked and my AC just came on a hot ass day. The drop from the window is atleast 20 feet and I was so nervous I was bouta either kill someone or waste my money by it falling to the cement. This video made it so simple. You deserve this like my guy💯💯💯
i think you should put a window bracket so the ac doesn't fall out
Did you install it correctly? Are you still baked?
Pop pop pop pop
me sitting here thinking about doing it at 3am by myself since it’s hot:😗✌️
bleachburritos lol same
LMFAO WTF SAME😂😂😂
Lol same it’s 106🥵
Wow, that is hot. 😟
me right now 😂😂
It's 104 out and this little ac took 5 minutes to install and 15 minutes to cool down my bedroom. Works great for a medium sized room.
Thanks for a concise video. It's exhausting trying to find something that doesn't include "First, remove the air conditioning unit from the box...".

No support bracket used outside?
Wait you had to do that? No wonder, I couldn't even see my product
I teach kindergarten (so 4-5 year olds)
Good job for those that feel intimidated over installing their own air conditioner now the hot weather has hit.
Heres a tip , when you see air conditioners on sale when its cold , grab one because stores sell out once heat waves hit.
You can get really good new ones too. I spent a 100 on one, which was used for a summer, but still is basically new.
Also prices are better in the off season.
@@furiosa1203 oh ya used , mostly like new on secondary market. Private sale is the way to go. Bought my first one for 50$ when i bought my first home. I was 22. It still works beauty. Lol. Dont build em like the old days
2:42 Most satisfying fit ive ever seen.
that’s what she said

Hey man thanks I'm 16 n couldn't have gotten it done without this video bc it is my 1st ac I'm installing
I’ve never installed an air conditioner before. Thanks to you I was able to all by myself at 2am. Only took a few minutes.
THANK YOU! You saved the day for us! The Instruction Manual was terrible....it had us taking the whole unit apart before installing! You are THE BEST!
Glad to hear. Thank you for your feedback!👍
Very good video! I have an old GE that needs replacing. It is in a casement window- must have been installed by a carpenter as it has beautiful matching woodwork surrounds, and fits in the bottom half of the window (the top window must have been custom made-it is only 1/2 window). The A/C has a medal frame around it, which the front of the unit clicks into, and I am hoping to be able to keep the woodworking in place when we have a new A/C installed. The metal framework that your A/C is anchored into with screws helped me understand how an A/C fits the window- thank you!!
Excellent video! I particularly like how you handled the bottom of the vinyl sill with the piece of wood. That was my problem as well. :)
The attention to details I had never thought of was excellent. I am installing a unit tomorrow and that slight downhill tilt for moisture fall away was something that had not x my mind. You can tell this is my first install. The accent was also charming.
This was an awesome video. It explained so much to me about how to install a window unit that the written instructions don't clearly explain. I should be able to install one with no problem other than needing a bit of help with the weight of the unit. Thank you!
i love the subtle hints of the German accent. :)
Thank you! A visual helped when I was sweating and super hot and trying to install mine!
csifan52 haha same here man!
Me tooooo!! Lmaoo bt whn I press thy power button 🤪🤪🤪🙏🏽
Word
Hahaha, same here.
In steaming in my room doing some research my windows is pretty long but yeah tryna get it by tommorow
Awesome tutorial! About to install this coming Thursday and just hopes the unit I'm buying comes with all the equipments you used to seal the unit. Thanks much!
Easy to understand instructional format . One of the better instructional videos I have seen .
Great video! Very clear and easy to follow. I put my AC in tonight!
Thank you for the video, you made my life more easy with your instructions
First step not last step is to check the freaking thing works! I have learned the hard way.
Damn bummer man!
I skipped that step but luckily it worked
Really good point! Ima do that
Quality Quality Quality…. It matters.
I always wondered how secure these were if someone wanted to break in. Thank you for showing me now I can buy one
That was so simple and straightforward. I think I can do that on my own without having to call around 4 help. Can you mention what type of air conditioner that is and what amount you pay for it? My central air unit went out and I'm not financially prepared to put in a new one so I think this will be a nice idea upstairs. Thank you for your video
Thank you sooooo much ! Just did it by myself at 1am 🙌🏾 this was so helpful
Like the other posters, gee thanks for explaining this in simple terms that even my wife could understand. If you tell her that I'll just have to say you lie a lot. I'm looking at adding a window unit to the far side of the house to see if it'll help with the central Air Conditioner. The heat wave we are experiencing is brutal here in South Texas, and I mean brutal. Great video with the best instructions so far...
That was a helpful video, especially the part about using the wood spacer. It's something many people wouldn't have thought of - even if it was mentioned in the installation instructions (Ha!).
Thank you for your feedback! Much appreciated 👍
Thank you so much. I was struggling with the one I just bought and you help me install it. :)
this is great, and the instructions are really clear. thanx so much.
The perfect window that was too easy
Great, short, to-the-point video!!! Explains EVERYTHING. Thank you
Thank you. This is much better than the instructions that came with the unit.
Very helpful, nicely done! I'm not gonna mess with all that, but it was useful to see the process!
Such a helpful video, without getting bored with the extra bla, bla, bla......lol
Thank you very much ❤️
Thank you brother. I need to place one of those in one of my windows and the video was definitely very helpful.
You made it look easy!
I live in 2 floor apartment and the 2nd floor is always hot thank you
Thorough but still simple. Thank you.
Thank you so much for correcting my install mistakes now I know so much easier!!!
Very nice... now I'm getting ready to install mine!!! Thanks!
Thanks! This was so helpful.
Recently moved apartments but still am the neighbor to some of my relatives we use to live 7 but now its 4 & 4 since they had a kid. Anyways this video helped us install 2 A.C's today appreciate it
Thank you so much for your time! Sooooooo well explained 🤩
Thank you , easy and simple instructions.
I have been using window units for many years and just now learning I've done them wrong this whole time thank you so very much!!!
Glad to hear the video was helpful 👍 thank you for your feedback 🙂
But I am sure yours has been working ok but maybe need a little correction. We all learn sometimes.
Very clear instruction. Thank you !
Thank you so much!! You helped my husband and I after installing it wrong 🤦♀️ Appreciate this video.
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you!!!!
It’s more scarier if you live on the fifth floor or on the 12th floor
why
@@colbybarbour9990 I had an AC fall 1 foot away from me walking into my building.would had being killed if I was 1 sec behind in time :0.felled from the 27th floor
Felled more scarier
This is my problem 😂
@thunderWolfmaths deduct
very informative and easy to follow your directions thank you
Phenomenal video without a lot of blah blah blah direct to the point kudos
Thanks just got one and was having hard time. Might need a screwdriver gun compared to hands on one. And this is so much easier than following the box constructions.
Thanks. Nice and straightforward. Some of the other install videos out there are a joke!
My dad taught me how .so thankful easy to do. feel so great and cool in my home now.
Our home ac quit working this past week and I’ve been trying to find ways of cooling without purchasing a new unit. I sure don’t have $10k hanging around. Someone suggested getting a window unit. Than you for your explanation and how to. Very helpful.
You are amazing, thanks for the great vid. I have always been a visual learner and I don't do manuals, so this was perfect! Chef's kiss
I just installed my AC using this video, thank you so much
Wow u did a Awesome job u took your time and did it thanks for sharing this video hopefully I can get somebody to help me with my air conditioner. 👍🏽
That's a big help. Thank you
GE is a good, affordable brand. I've had my little unit in my bedroom going on 4 summers now and it's still as quiet as it was new and even in this high, humid heat, my 10x10 room is cool and comfortable. And I've never even cleaned the filter yet. Will do soon.
Do you use a 5,000 btu AC? Because that is what I bought for my 10x12 room
Mine is a 8K unit and a 5K would do well for my room, but my AC back is sticking out in a hot, enclosed & sunny front porch. So I need the extra btu's. I guess a 5K would work, but I got the 8K to be sure.
Is it pretty good for the whole house or should I buy two?
@@broganchapman975 just like it says on the box....good for a 10 x 10 foot room. Not even close to being good enough for the whole house....unless it's a studio apartment that is like 120 square feet lol
@@daywalker3735 lol. I've never used one. Just thought it would save money in the long run. But I guess I'll buy two
Excellent step by step visual display on how too, smart creative resolution on ensuring flat surface, very helpful tutorial, thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it👍
I just watched the Home Depot one before this, left a nasty ass comment for them. Fortune 500 company didn't know the correct outlet to put a cord into. Thank you for this. Actually helped with my first installation, which a video should be doing ,HOME DEPOT
Thank you your instruction was very good help me and my son put his in his window had no problems at all thank you
Now I can do it on my own, Thanks a lot!
Thanks!!! Definitely made things easier.
Very helpful ! Thank you!
Thanks for the Informational video!!
Made installation a Lot Easier!!
Thanks for a fantastic tutorial!
This was so helpful. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial! Thanks 🙏🏾
This was helpful.. Gonna put one of these in my garage
Really clean install.
Thank you very much I knew I wasn’t wrong trying to get the arms to close the bottom part under the air conditioner had to be adjusted and put outside the window in inside the window frame
Great job Mr.
Thanks for the great information! Now I’ll see if I can do it myself :-)
One of the better videos!! THANKS!
I never leave reviews,,,, but you helped with the damn according slides on the sides . If ya don't know what your doing now days you can always find help. Thanks very much for your help .... Here in Okla June heat will get ya
God bless you. Great tutorial 👌
Tutorial was excellent.
Yours was window sliding up & down.
Mine window moving sideways.
Very easy to follow instructions.
Great tip on leveling at 5:25 to allow water to go outside of the house. As first time, we will need to replace an old / dirty AC unit at my kid's apartment this weekend. She does not want to spend money at least a hundred $ so have me do it.
Hope it will be an easy swap but never know.
Thank you for helping me doing that .
👍👍👍
Very helpful indeed. Thank you!!
Very thorough very helpful thank you sir
Excellent video, clear, concise and very instructive.
Please explain, how to do it in a new wall without a window, just the space for the air conditioner.
Air Conditioning unit similar to what I used in this video: amzn.to/3dhhFPy

MegaSafetyFirst Thank you! I am researching A/C’s online to find one that gets good ratings...any recommendations?
I heard that these are very quiet and I would consider it if I needed a new one:

But I cannot tell you what the quality is like.
Thanks Dad
Thanks. Just installed a 10,000 btu unit all by myself.
Big help, thanks!
Very easy installation and service.
Very helpful. Thank you.
Wow thx so much my a/c came in a box with no instructions you made it so easy! The only problem I have is should I use the longer or the shorter screws on the bar across the top of the unit? I’m gonna go with shorter first because I don’t own a drill!
Thank you very much for sharing this information brother
I have now watched your video a few times It has given me the confidence to install this A. I am way frustrated with the side panels what seemed so easy but I can't seem to get them installed. It is very frustrating
Man this video makes carrying it look so easy
Nice video ..wish my husband done ours that neat lol
Great video! Thank you!!
Good instructions, thanks!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback!
Thank you for the help.
