Well this what not a series I was excepting to have to make so soon but hey in the end I sure am glad I made the choice and was guided to do it because the poor 351m was not in good shape and would not have lasted much longer as you will see in later parts of this series. If I miss pronounce or called a part a wrong name bear with me I'm not perfect haha and this was a lot to take in such a short amount of time.
May The Lord Jesus Bless Ya!!!

Keep it up. Build it. Do it. Get it done right.

Im tackling a 400 rebuild right now for the first time by myself so its good to see someone my age working on these old fords too!
    I've been contemplating videoing it.

Yeah I has been a wild ride rebuilding the 351m. I would highly recommend the Tim Meyers #1 Main Bearing Oiling Mod, Bumps the oil psi WAY up.

Thanks so much for posting this! Planning to hopefully pull the 400 out of my ‘78 F150. Helps to reassure to see someone else do it. It’s even better you are a fellow Christian and not cursing and so on. I’ll be doing my best to not curse with those exhaust bolts and so on while I do by myself 😅.

Yeah once you get down to it it's not to bad. More time and a bit more money would have made my build way easier, and not stressing. Glad I could provide some normal clean content!

How can you tell what the transmission is? I want to rebuild the original 400cid to put back in my 78 f350 also exploring other engine options

Depends of if it's an a manual or an auto, if it is an auto it's either I believe a c4 or a c6. You will be able to tell with a quick Google search what the external differences are. A manual might be an NP435, I'm not sure on manual stuff yet as I haven't owned manual rig.
