Well its not because the Shelby lost its oomph.. Its because the Shelby has a soft speed limiter at 175-180 mph.
Its programmed at the core like that, this was intentionally done to avoid tyre bursts based accidents at higher speeds and to make wait for it the Shelby GT500 slower than Ford GT!!!!!

Yes it does that at 160 mph.. At which the GT500 does the 7th gear where its 1:1 ratio.
Post that it won't pull.
There are transmission tunes that can prolong the 6th gear and make 7th gear go 175 but even still U can't delete the engine speed limiter.
I ve tried that on a crate GT500 motor which was a replacement for a blown Predator motor.
I dunno why Ford does that, but they say GT500s chassis and tyres are made for max 180 mph.

m3 is full bolt ons with race brakes (and rear seats removed) and the gt500 is missing a lower pulley headers and full exhaust
and if you really want to, port the blower. gt500 has a lot left on the table

Great race, very evenly matched cars, I would say at the end was the g80 being at the top of the power-band and the land yacht shifting and dropping rpm is the little ground gain at the end. The gt500 also has more aggressive aero so very impressive it kept up above 100.

Difference between the g80 and the Shelby at these power levels is the g80 will crap a bottom end in not very long. They last good up to ~900whp but need at least rods and pistons to sustain that power level for a long time. Had some local guys lose engines after a few seasons of racing that were ~1kwhp range. The 5.2 Predator will hold 1300+whp and 8500rpm for a very long time. This guy has a lot more he can do to the Shelby too and will pick up a lot without even having to add more boost

Ive said it before and ill say it again, dudes splitter whickers are killing his top end every race he does. The faster he goes, the more downforce he gets until he's practically got a parachute on the front.

Nice run. GT500 was running good. At the very top, GT500 hit the gear dropping into 7th. No way to defeat that without tunning, and that will take the 12k Motec to get it done.

That RS3 is most likely making well over 1000whp, maybe over 1200whp to keep up with that R8 the way it did, it may even be higher than 1300whp. The Porsche is definitely quick but way down on power to the RS3. Before you say that the Porsche beat the M340i with 1000hp, the BMW was racing on his low power map to make it a competitive race. Not sure why people have a hard time understanding that.

Even if the GT500 was faster, for the same prices, the BMW is just such a better bang for buck. The GT500 interior where you spend 99% of your time looking and dealing with when you're not racing is just terrible value for the price compared to the M3

@@AutoGlory nah that one was barely modded if i remember correctly. There was a different black one with upper pulley e85, cat delete, intake and a lund tune. It was pushing like 850-900whp and seem to run harder than this blue one

It's called traction vs no traction. BMW gets traction effortlessly on any surface. The shelby is 50/50.. also the xdrive is detrimental from a 60 roll since it weighs more from a dig or like 30 roll it would be lights out for the shelby.
