I'd really love to see a guide for what counts as a pokestop. Honestly many people aren't aware how there are certain spots like pools, gazebos, or community parks that can easily get added. I've added around 40 stops to the game and plan to get to 100 as an effort to pay back people who first added stops near me.
This is where looking at the gifts received helps. They are guaranteed accepted wayspots (oops, except as pointed out when criteria change).
Also becoming a Wayfarer reviewer helps. You see loads of nominations from all over which helps plan your own nominations.
@@wendyon4517 It helps somewhat, but I noticed a lot of Little Libraries were accepted in the past but now it seems they are not :(

@@Groinattack1 Yes. Criteria change. The amount of very poor nominations only increase. People need to look up how to better nominate wayspots.
That said there are loads of times perfectly valid wayspots are rejected because Wayfarer reviewers don't know the criteria themselves. I've had things like covered rest areas in seaside public parks rejected and then accepted by NIANTIC on appeal. I've had other nominations rejected only to be accepted on second try. Sometimes because I goofed up somewhere but many times because it seems the reviewer just blew through and rejected without reading any of the information. People tend to care about their own areas.
@@wendyon4517 yeah the review process definitely has a learning curve, and a lot of people just rush through reviews to get an upgrade for their own nomination I’m guessing.

Me not caring about how it works and still watching until the end because you have put so much work towards making this video and it was amazing to watch! Very informative and I am sure a lot of people will benefit from it.
Normally the oldest pokestop in the cell becomes a gym. But if you want your submission to become a gym you have to like the photo of the POI in ingress. This because the POI with the most likes becomes a gym (If two have similar like count the oldest becomes a gym) notice you have to be quick. It takes normally two days before a approved nomination will appear in Pokémon go. In ingress this progress is quicker.
This hasn't been the case for me. I created a bunch of pokestops in my area specifically choosing the order and cell placement so the one I wanted became the gym. Waited until one wayspots was verified before moving on to the next. Six gyms made where there were zero wayspots. Not one time did the order of placement work even with going in and liking the one I preferred.

@@TheStinalee201120 As soon as the second pokestop in the area is approved one of them will be a gym. I used IITC to be sure I was nominating in the correct squares then it was a matter of getting them accepted.
Luckily I could find a bunch of acceptable Wayspots so my rural area has 8 gyms (one sponsored one was just demoted) within a 1km radius. It's a mountainous area so some are on the other side of mountains to me but just a longer walk.
Hello, what do I do if the Wayspot gets accepted and it doesn't appear yet in either game, yet I want this one to turn into a gym?

Wow thanks for breaking down all this complicated info so, us dummies can understand it.
To add, the only way a level 14 S2 cell can have more than 3 gyms (aside from sponsorships) was due to people editing pokestops over S2 cell lines and back to trigger gyms that shouldn't have existed in the first place. This worked for pokestops as well. If there were 2 POI in a level 17 S2 cell, only 1 could be a stop. Unless you edited it out of the 17 cell and back in, which would make both POI appear in PoGo. Once a pokestop or gym appeared, it could not disappear. This is no longer true.
This edit abuse has since been curbed and is no longer possible to perform, but areas still linger that show signs of obvious abuse. Stops and gym that defy the level 14 and level 17 cell line rules.

I've given up nominating new stops in Minnesota. All the gatekeepers have set such an extremely high standard that they reject most of them. As I travel it becomes more evident.

would like to know if more nominations could possibly turn pokestop into a gym, because I am a wheelchair user and it gets difficult for me to exit the house, i have two accessible pokestops at my house, would be nice if Niantic can update one of the pokestop to a gym
I need to check next time I'm in town but I'm almost positive that I've pokestops in the same S17 cells. Edit: just checked and WOW at the luck in S17 cell placement in one area. Only one cell definitely had two Pokestops. Many had several wayspots but only one accepted Pokestop.

Jo can also Google if there is a private hosted pogomap in your Area. Some of them even have the Option zu show diffrent s2 cells

Someone added a stop nearby and now a gym appeared just the other day. Kinda sad though because it’s not in a good place to raid and I used to get research from it nearly every day because I went past it so often.

I have been using the mobile plugin to basically map out pokestops and stops that are in other niantic games, but is there anyway to save all that info and work on it on the desktop?
It sounds silly but it saves me time to wait for the map to load in on pokego in an area with poor reception.

Poke Daxi, no YTuber has made a video on the top gym defenders in a long time. As someone who lives in a big city struggling to get their daily 50 pokecoins I am sure myself and many others would appreciate an up to date gym defender guide bro 😇
Munna should've been a better gym defender than what it currently is. I recall it being tanky AF in the DS games.
Something freaky happened last month when it came to gyms and pokestops where I live it is several gyms I can go within walking distance but something freaky happened a pokestop in the gym switch positions there were one street pokéstops together almost right across from each other I mean you can stand in the middle and spend them but not one of them is now a gym and there was three Gym they were next to each other now one of them is a pokestop it was weird but then again since they're practically knew I can spend them and still get the experience points and hard for visiting a new place it was freaky I went to this gym for practically 4 years it was the post office I just walked there and it was gold too now I have to start over from scratch but I think it's kind of worth it I mean they're pretty close to me so I can just go over there and do it even though it's going to take a while to make the new gym gold one thing I love about this game is it does reward you for your efforts.

I have more regular Pokéstops than gyms near me. I pass 8 total Pokéstops on my walk to work and only 2 of those are gyms. On my days off I take walks to look for more gyms to place Pokémon in. I'm trying to save a minimum of 1400 Pokécoins to upgrade my gear.
I can even nominate poke stops because I need to pass the test. I have tried at least 6 times and because there is no feedback on what mistakes I have made or even my score I have no idea if I am getting better or not. I have given up nominating stops.
That explains why when a pokestop i nominated popped up another stop turned into a gym
Their are 3 pokestops right next to eachother but for some readon theirs no gyme near by do u know why

Is the pokestop nomination different now since you have to "test in" via the wayfarer system? Can you nominate without doing that?
All new wayfarers and those that haven't used it in a very long time are required to pass the test now before nominating or reviewing.
This was done to make people actually read the criteria and guidelines, the system was getting clogged up with too much garbage previously.
I have this weird scenario in my area. Previously there is 1 pokestop and 1 gym in 1 big cell here in my area. But few days ago the pokestop moved to its proper location (outside the cell), does this mean if I nominate another pokestop it will automatically become a gym too? No you wouldn't get another gym, it would just be a pokestop.

finally using the map and now i know why some of my nominations were marked duplicates because they actually exist but not in pogo....... niantic should show the ingress map maybe when nominating because i just saw at least 10 local stops that are not in pogo but in ingress map and im actually sad because some could be marked at a different cell but maybe the nominator didnt know back then...
They won't show the ingress intel map in pogo because they are completely different games. For a while now there has been a wayspot map built into the pogo nomination process but people tend not to notice that it is there. It shows both the wayspots used in pogo and those that aren't within 200m of the trainer's physical location.
Also to note that the ingress intel map does not show all the wayspots either, just the ones used in ingress.
@@darren424242 i went and checked that i can actually see the stops that dont appear on pogo but the icon for those were hard to see for me outside as they blended with the map view........ my ignorance is fixed now so thank you haha
Now you need a take a wayfarer test to be able to nominate a stop
Which is good because so many bad nominations are clogging up the nomination queue. If people can't figure out what is a good nomination by taking the test then they needn't waste reviewers time.

What do you do if your home town is so small, that there are not enough structures or signs and stuff in 1 area to possibly have a gym at all?
I have to drive an hour to get my nearest poke stop. It’s a nightmare. They really just need a default two poke stop and one gym in every town with more than 100 people

How do you pass the quiz in order to be able to nominate? You can only take it twice and I already failed it once, thank you, zero reading comprehension. I play a lot and there a lot of places I want to nominate, but obviously am not going to attempt the quiz again unless I KNOW I am going to pass.
