In my opinion, Antonella Ruggiero, if she had been born in the USA and had had one of the major US record companies behind her, today she would be celebrated as the best pop music singer in history.

I saw her, for the 34th time, in a concert 2 weeks ago and she is able to sing almost like in 1979. Now she is 70 and her voice is still a miracle. Thanks for sharing this incredible song

The singer at the beginning is Carlo Marrale. I saw Matia Bazar in concert and I can assure you that it's not a harmonizer, it's really her voice. I saw them in their best line up Antonella (vocals) Carlo (guitar) Aldo Stellita (bass) Giancarlo Golzi (drums) Mauro Sabbione (keyboards) unfortunately Aldo, Giancarlo and Mauro are no longer here due to serious illnesses.

Progressive rock, (cavallo bianco) pop di qualità (c'è tutto un mondo intorno) musica elettronica (fantasia) misto tra tango e elettronica (vacanze romane) Peccato Mauro non ci sia più pur rimanendo nei Matia solo 3 anni (1981-84) era quelli che più aveva pubblicato la storia del gruppo.

Hello Dereck! i just love how you reacts to the many different songs from the Eighties! can you please react to the German American singer very famous in the eighties , Jennifer Rush! Ave Maria! ? i was very moved when i heard her here on youtube the other week. for the first time in over three decades since i heard her last time in that 80,s decade! love from Andy.
A female vocalist who can actually sing. How novel. We don't hear many of late. That said, there are fantastic singers in India with super high vocal ranges for instance. It's the western (English speaking) pop scene that seems devoid of talent. I'd never heard of this band. Perhaps this speaks to the issues ABBA spoke about back in the 70's, how difficult it is to break out of the Euro zone bubble.
Vocal range is a meaningless obsession. The matter is the interpretation, the whole message, not the muscular value of the voices. In Italy we have Antonella Ruggero and many other wonderful different voices. And not only in Italy for sure.
