The dung collection tray should have a thin layer of wood shavings or rice hulls. This will allow you to save labour because you don't have to scrape dung everyday then because of reduced moisture and odor. The collected mixture of dung and shavings will compost better and can be sold or used for fertilizer.

Hey Dexter!! Personally, I think that you having to start from scratch on a new piece of land is actually the best thing that could have happened to you because if all goes well, you will get money from the land that you are going to lose but can use that money to get a new piece of land, which you are already doing, but now you can take the time to organize and design the new land exactly the way you want it. You can use the knowledge and experience from the current land and animals that you have and use that to design a layout for the new piece of land so that you can have all the chickens in one place, all the birds in another place, and the fish in another place, etc. I think that you should consider building 2-level/floor buildings on part of the land so that in the bottom floor you can have chickens with access to go outside during the day and on the second floor you could have your bird cages with solar panels on top of the bird cages to produce electricity for your use or to sell to the city or others. And you could have all your ponds together where you could put aquaponics on half so that it can be shade for the fish and that way you can produce hydroponics at the same time. Hi Dexter....Just found your channel and am enjoying it very much. Sorry to hear about the farm but excited to see the next chapter of your journey! I am just getting started with quail. I am just about ready to get some eggs to incubate! I have a question regarding grow out pens. I just watched this episode of the quail cage build. I like this and will build one! I'd like to know if there are any issues with adding new young birds into existing cages with older quail in them. If I am going to be hatching and growing out quail I can't be building new cages all the time. I expect to have 100 - 200 4 week old birds going into grow out pens each week. I know that isn't much for your setup but give me time! At some point I will have to just stop incubating for around 2 weeks to get my oldest birds to the 10 week layer/harvest age.
Again, I am enjoying your channel so thank you for the hard work you put in to the content...it definately shows!

Back in April I gave up my comfortable apartment for 5 years and I went on a journey because I had a longing in my heart that there had to be something better for me out there and I traveled the whole USA and I saw the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean and then I came back to Texas LOL I am from East Texas but I am now in West Texas LOL Northwest to be exact and it is a desert here and it is completely different but I'm the manager of a cute little 14 room motel and happier than I've ever been. I could have lived anywhere in the USA but I didn't feel home until I got here
And now I have to rebuild all over again but I am having so much fun and I have so much daydreaming going on about all the renovating and future customers LOL I'm a starseed and I cannot wait to bless everyone that comes my way! Hugs hugs hugs everyone shining my love light bright
