If you want to keep the chicks healthy . Put some turmeric in the water until the water just turns yellow. Then add I bit of crushed multivitamin tablet powder. I have had a 100% success at keeping chicks alive during the brooding stage

In stead of stones in your water try glass marbles. they are reusable and easy to clean. second it is better if you round the corners of the rooms you use as a brooders, it cuts the numbers of squashed chick deaths with completely round being the best. They bunch up in corners and it ends up a death trap. lastly lights in the center of the space so chicks can self regulate temps. if chick is cold then they move under light if not the run around. light should be place close to the ground about 10 inches above. raise\lower light so chick tend to sit about the outer edges and not piled up in center. this will keep them from bunching up. if they do bunch up just lower the light a bit more til they back off a bit.

Just wonderful, been searching for "quail eggs" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Eeyila Rudimentary Expediency - (just google it ) ? It is a great one off product for discovering how to raise healthy and fertile quail minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my partner got cool success with it.

I used feeds sacks in my quail waste disposal its easy . Changing the used one to a spare clean sacks. it takes 5 minutes to remove and replace the 5 layers (500 heads) .
Then after i wash it and dry .

I stacked my cages but not angled, I do use a drywall knife to clean the dung like you are planning. I put a layer of sand so it don't stick. It works great. I will ,make angles next time, that is a good idea. Salamat poe for sharing. Please do an update after you have your quail in it for awhile, and let us know how it works out.

Perhaps the wire mesh covering the feeding trough should be changed to one with smaller holes, to keep the chicks out.

why not use plain sheet or polycarbonate for the dung collector , its more stronger and will last longer than plywood?
After collecting the dung, where or how do you deal with it? Do you bury it in a landfill? Or is there any other way of disposing it?
@@ferdinandmunoz1000 you can mix it with sawdust and use as manure after composting for around six months or so.
