    I'm an American. I will tell you, that people will complain about anything. They dont have anything valid to say. Not because of you. Because, they want everybody to do things their way. Even though... they dont own 1 bird. Ignore them. Your birds are treated very well, and, you see to their health. Your providing good food to children and others. Great job. Thank you for sharing.

    The soft shell lacks calcium and also it signifies that your quails doesnt acquire enough sunlight or vitamin D and also vitamin A. There are some aspect that your quail is fat which sometimes lead to produce several egg follicle.

    For the cage. I agree to you about the high cage, I just wondering why not make the cage a bit more spacious for the quail ? To give them extra breathing room for space, also easier to clean the cage as well.

    • @7hilladelphia
      @7hilladelphia Před 2 lety +9

      Quail rise up fast and strong if startled, breaking their necks but low ceiling cage prevents death. Otherwise make a 5ft high A frame cage or just a 5,6ft high cage they can soar up and safely come down or if a high cage, have things they can land on, up high

    • @ReynaxisSolutions
      @ReynaxisSolutions Před 2 lety +16

      If you give them more space, they will have more legroom to roam around. They will spend energy that should be best reserved to laying eggs. The more energy they spend, the more they will eat. The more they eat because they are moving around, the more feeds you will buy. It's a bit unethical but that's just how things are.

      That' s a great Idea but i also would go for maximum of 4 quail per Quadratmeter. Also add a sandbath and some hiding opportunities. Oh and don't forget this wire ground is not good for them their little feet get stuck use wood chips, ground or grass if you have the opportunity. If you offer them a happy life they can live up to 4-8 years. They will be very thankful and will give you in spring, summer and autumn everyday eggs.
      Hopefully it helps :)

    Dexter, please find a way to add ventilation (hint: fans) to your animal housing. I have worked many years in commercial chicken houses and there was always large fans placed to cool the animals. They can die from heat prostration . They won't eat properly either. Don't get them too fat, as this also increases their body heat. I am trying to give you good hints. I am glad you are finding good success so far. Wish you the best.

      Just don't follow him in the cage size please. It's plain out cruel. Quails are naturally energetic and need more space. Do proper research before hand and look at videos where people actually know what they are doing. Don't support this kind of cruelty!

      ivan6139 Well then, let’s lock you in a little cage so you won’t use up your energy by trying to get comfortable. Jerk.

    • @ivan6139
      @ivan6139 Před 5 lety

      @@Ampersandrascott Its not efficient to give more room since even a farmer needs to feeds it family.. See this.. If the farmer gives the quails a lot of space then they will fly around the cage more and they will not lay eggs efficiently, that would be waste of resources on them.. And there are plenty of ways to feed their family like culling.. Since you really want to give them space.. Then there is also culling them.. Dont you think so..

    • @ivan6139
      @ivan6139 Před 5 lety +3

      @@AmpersandrascottPlus, a brand new cage takes time and money to do. I dont know if you notice, Philippines is a third world country. Not many things are available to us.. Feeds are expensive and plus the keep yourself, family and also to contribute to the hungry children in the Philippines. The Philippines is not like your country where you get everything conveniently. Secondly, Quails eggs only amount to a few coins unlike in abroad it cost 6-8$ for a few. Philippines is not like your "RICH" country. If you so want a brand new cage for them. Why not you spend one and send it to him.

      ivan6139 I’ve farmed my whole life. When you crowd birds, disease spreads quickly. When I altered my process and started using movable enclosures in the pastures, egg production went up, but egg quality went way up!
      Don’t try to justify abusing animals by making false claims.

      I understand the reason for the short cage but is there a reason for so many to a cage other than saving room on your part? I’m not judging I am truly asking and want to have a conversation about this. You spoke about the stress, would less hens per cage be less stressful for the hens? And would that be more productive for you?

    What measurements are your cages and how many birds do you put in per cage. Have you considered trowth feeders and waters? How long do you keep your breeders and layers? What do you do with the (straight) male birds? What type of feed do you feed your newly hatched birds, the go rowers, the young layers and the mature layers. Do you have problems marketing your birds when school is out? Thank you in advance for any feedback. I enjoy your channel. I also enjoy juniors channel as well. God bless this and other projects!
