Many of these rides and attractions have B-mode scenes that are activated when animatronics malfunction or when a ride breaks down. I like seeing the animatronic malfunctions, but I find in interesting to learn about how these robots work.

The mounted dinosaur head on the wall with flashing lights had me in tears 😂 Reminds me of Disco Yeti but worse
Found the animatronic Dinosaur B Mode very interesting. Whenever we ride this ride, we always look the opposite way of the main Carnotaurus on purpose as a joke for the picture because everyone else in the car is always looking the right way. Little did we know there was another Carnotaurus we were looking at there the whole time! 🦖
My family did the same as a joke and noticed the Dino in the dark! Everyone thought we were crazy!!!
Having a B mode is so clever!
I think it's one of the things that really distinguish from old attractions to newer attractions
I went to Disney World last year and was pleasantly surprised to find all these animatronics working perfectly! The only malfunction I saw was on Little Mermaid in MK, during the "under the sea" sequence, one of Ariel's eyes wasn't moving, so she was completely cross-eyed at one point. I really wish I got a video of it!
When I went to WDW in late August, Ariel in Part of Your World had a lockjaw. So I feel you.
There's been a few times we've seen B modes. The Kylo animatronic was down for like... a solid month so we saw B mode Kylo several times. We also have experienced the Runaway Railway B mode too. It's always really cool to see
This is, and always will be, one of my favorite series on CZcams. It’s just so fun to see the different instances of breakdowns and stuff. I love it!

I went on a behind the scenes tour for smugglers run wdw. The CMs are cross trained and told stories about Rise. There was some wild things. But they told a fun fact about Kylo's animatronic. 90% of the malfunctions are caused by the door that conceals him in the beginning. Apparently the animatronic is super reliable but the piece of metal that swings up has always been problematic

To be honest, I'd say yes to having crew members mention that the Shaman animatronic won't be present in the Avatar ride. I love her, and I'd do anything to see her for the first time as well. Her movements are so graceful and she is indeed a HUMONGUS animatronic.

Thanks for the new video TPM! Another fun B-mode in Smugglers Run is that in the second pre-show right before you board there is a B-mode for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser guests. When you go to Galaxy’s Edge during Starcruiser, you get a pin to wear. The cast members see the pins and give you special interactions, one of which is then pushing a button in this pre-show that gives Hondo a few extra lines that reference the guests on the Halcyon and ties in their story on the ship! It’s really cool and really seamless!
Too bad this B-mode is now lost to time now that Galactic Starcruiser is no more.
Its great to see that some animatronics have a B mode if they happen to malfunction. Because when the animatronic happens to malfunction, with the B mode, it won't alter your experience too much.
B mode is constantly being worked on to make sure it can be used if A mode has to be switched
Love learning more about animatronics! The first time I went on rise right after it opened at Disneyland, BB-8 also malfunctioned in the first Preshow. However, the dialogue remained the same as if he was functioning.

Yes, people the line should always be informed if B-Modes is in progress. Nothing worse than waiting to see something and it not be working.

A few years ago, I was on the expedition Everest ride. We broke down right before the disco yeti scene, and sadly we could only hear the yeti. But while we were stuck, the people in the front started making a beat and singing “We will, we will, forward” in the melody of we will rock you! Everyone joined in, and it was kind of wholesome :)

I recently went to California Adventures, and I experienced B modes on Guardians of the Galaxy, and Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway. Coolest thing ever!

Despite how I feel towards Disney with they’re films, I still get amazed with they’re animatronics, it’s interesting how they work and why they breakdown as they do in whichever manner they do and I learn from your videos. By the end of it, I will give credit where it’s due towards the Imageneers for creating something that has the same movement as us since that can’t be easy to build.

The Kylo Ren b-mode malfunction got me laughing for some reason. I think it’s because there’s a piece of ceiling in front of him 😂

There is actually a B-mode for the Kylo/Hux scene in Rise of the Resistance - I have seen it completely covered by a screen in the last month!
I went to Disneyland the Monday before Thanksgiving and got to see a few malfunctions on Small World Holiday, a malfunction on Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, and the B-Mode carnival scene on Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. It was pretty awesome.
@2:50 Honestly... B Mode for that MMRR scene looks better than the A Mode... IMHO... Sad for the front row of the cars, but when was the last time Disney took sightlines seriously? They don't care about your experience anymore so long as they have your money.
I wasn’t quick enough to get a video, but I was once on runaway railway, and in the carnival scene, Mickey and Minnie’s faces were either not working, or were just stuck, so they just looked like ‘:^/‘ the entire time 😅😂

If I’m being honest, one of the main reasons I ride Na’vi River journey is so that I might have a small chance of seeing the shaman malfunction, as it is such a rare and cool experience.
It's so funny when Donald Duck loses all of his feathers and he gets embarrassed by guests looking at him funny.
The coolest high teck illustrations on the Rise of the Resitons ride is the best i think.
Watching these videos make me want to go to Disneyland so bad again for my birthday but idk if I’ll be able to go because my birthday is near Halloween {October 28th} and my parents were saying they might not be able to buy the halloween tickets in time and it would be a waste to still go since the park closes early 🥲

Thank you tpm vids for putting in my clip of the Rey transmission not working! It was my first time going on the ride, when we broke down. Then 30 minutes later, the transmission failed. Thankfully the rest of the ride went smoothly and I had already seen the preshow.

It took me a little over a year (thanks to this video) to realize on my 2022 trip to Disney World that I got to see B Mode Carnotaurus on Dinosaur and A Mode Carnotaurus in both my 2015 and 2023 trips. I may have seen B Mode Carnotaurus during my 1999 trip but I don't have the on-ride photo from that trip like I do from 2015, 2022, and 2023.
I would be very disappointed if I finally got to go to Galaxy's Edge and Hondo wasn't working. He is the best animatronic I have ever seen!

I must have seen the B mode Carnotaur on Dinosaur so much that I didn't realise it's B mode! I can't remember seeing an animated full body dino - just the head looming out of the dark!

We were in the Sea Aquarium in Epcot in the 90's and they put you in what you think is a elevator to the bottom of the ocean, but one of the panels did not move. So as we exited I told one of the employees the ride was broken and they closed that unit.

I guess I've only rode Dinosaur in B-mode because I've only seen the head on the wall. And my pictures are always of me looking in the opposite direction then the camera 😅🤣

Many years ago when Disney World opened there was a ride called Hall of Presidents.
There was no alternate modes then so if the speaking President malfunctioned it slumped
Against one of the others and kept speaking and shaking violently!!🤭 Hilarious!😆
The lights would go off and when the cars cleared somebody in a blackout suit would pick
up the goofy one and tote it to the maintenance section! The ride stayed down until it was
fixed! There was a video showing hilarious malfunctions. It may can be Googled.
I see the final Kylo Ren B-mode more often than I'd like to LOL I haven't seen Kylo working since 2021 :(

If a lot of people go on the avatar ride just for the shaman, I'd let people know just because the lines are long. But if it's hot out, most people would still go on just to be in a cool place for awhile.
This is the greatest series I've ever seen.
I went on the smugglers run twice while in Disneyland back in 2019 in October, and both of the times it was in b-mode 😅

i had the runaway railway one today. loved it
I have luckily never seen a malfunction on Rise of the Resistance, but when my family and I planned a trip to Disney World, we planned this as a once in a life time trip because we don't expect to be able to go back. We planned one day in animal kingdom and when going on the Navi River ride the Shaman was in B mode and I was so sad. I wanted to do the ride again to see if we could see the actual animatronic but a party member got grumpy so we ended up leaving the park early. Now I just admire her from afar by watching videos like this one. Love this series though, TPM Vids is amazing.
In February of 2023, me and my family went to Disney World and we were in Hollywood Studios, my dad, brother and I went on rise of the resistance while my mom and grandma waited for our dinner reservation. We get on the ride and we’re going up the elevator and lights turn on and the cart stops, we were stuck for a good 20-25 minutes. Once we got off, we RAN to out dinner reservation and thank goodness we made it 😭😭

I love how animatronic robots sometimes have spasms and have tons of seizures and stop working until the repairers come to fix them.
I've gotten the B mode for Smuggler's Run! I wasn't too sad because it was cool to see him on screen. Also, I've been on Rise of the Resistance 3 times and the animatronics always worked for me. Go figure lol
