Reggie Lewis, this guy had so much talent, and I believe he would of been a superstar for the Celtics, such a tragedy.
The Doctors who said Reggie Lewis was fine should of been charged for Medical Malpractice, because they essentially killed someone.
This is the reason why heath care in America is so fucking expensive is because all you people just want to fucking sue. Doctors aren’t fucking perfect and they’re going to fuck up that’s just life. Nowadays doctors have malpractice insurance cuz they’re so fucking terrified of a lawsuit which is why they’ll have you do all kinds of unnecessary test and have you see multiple specialists before treating you which drives up heath insurance rates yet my fellow Americans still are dumbfounded for why heath care is so expensive. This is why nothing ever gets done in the US because of the amount of BS processing, paperwork, and lawyers involved so everyone can cover their ass incase anyone decides they want to sue you. That’s all people see anytime anyone fucks up in the US is automatic dollar signs$$$ cuz greedy ass lawyers are on standby ready to take your ass or defend your ass in court cuz either way they win while you lose.

I’m from Boston and I’m not old enough to be alive at the time of his death, but the story was not forgotten. Being in a basketball / sport city in general, sports are the big topic of conversations. “ Tom Brady this. “ Jayson Tatum that. “ it’s all sports. My friends love basketball and we always talk about it. And almost every time we do, we bring up Reggie. He’ll never be forgotten in this city, or the basketball community.
There's also a great documentary on Reggie called Remember Reggie for those who are interested. There is also a book about his entire life that I own. Thank you Mike for finally making a video on my favorite player of all time. I've been requesting this for easily 2 years.

Tragedies like these are why I’m glad they take health so much more seriously now.
These people are so darn competitive that they’ll literally put their lives on the line... sometimes they just need to be pulled from a game for their own good. It’s crazy to see him fall to the court like that and see him still playing a few minutes later!
My personal trainer had exactly this (I believe, it was hardening of one of the heart’s arteries) hit him over the course of a week where he’d go to the gym and would find himself sitting down sweating like mad and struggling to stand... they rushed him, diagnosed it, and immediately replaced the artery.
Crazy to think he was trying to play with something like that :(

I was watching that playoff game against Charlotte. The NBA really lost two great men in 1993. Reggie Lewis and Drazen Petrovic died that same summer. They were true ambassadors of the game.
I think its important to note that at Northeastern he played for arguably a top 5 all time college coach who absolutely recognized what he had in Reggie Lewis. Those Northeastern teams were successful for who they were thanks to Lewis and Calhoun

Reggie Lewis was a Celtic GREAT. I can remember till this day, watching every game since he became a Celtic and watching him grow into being one of the best player around the league. He was dynamic and explosive. Could score anywhere around the court and played a key role as a lock down defensive player. Not just a great player, but a great man who did lots for the community and helped out many who couldn't help themselves out. I will never forget you Reggie. My favorite player of all time. Thank you and R.I.P. Reggie....

I was in 7th grade when my favorite player in the league died. I don’t know why I became to love Reggie the way I did. But I wore #35 until my last high school b-ball game my senior year. I knew I was never going to play school ball and have no problem admitting I cried when I took off my #35 jersey in the locker room for the last time. The best fade away jumper till this day.. A great man was lost that day he collapsed and died playing pick up b-ball in a gym that was blessed enough to see his last dribble.. RIP Reggie forever #35
