you should always keep photocopies of your driver's license and credit cards at home, front and back. that way you can call in the credit cards and get them frozen. and alert the credit reporting agencies, e.g. Experian to get a freeze on your credit as well

0:10 - 0:11 you die. It is much harder to lunge your entire body 3 feet than it is for the gunman to squeeze the trigger 1 inch. The response time of the human nervous system would be about a quarter of a second. It took you about that long to read the word "second". Using basic math, you can see that to travel 3 feet in a quarter of a second, you would have to travel 8MPH from start to finish. That seems simple, right? No. Consider the speeding up and slowing down that this move requires, along with the shift of balance and other movements you need to do to turn the gun away from your chest. This is not advisable. If complex movements were this simple, why would someone go through years and decades of martial arts training?
I know right? I thought the same about that particular part. As a martial artist I have my doubts on this video, I think some of the things he said are right and could work, but certainly not everything.
Don't take risks you're not 100% sure you can handle, and if you do try something, *Always* stay away from the fire line, same with knives...

@@MiguelMedV Yes. When I was young I tried to make my own martial art. It didn't focus on presentation and being "pretty". It focused on 2 things. Momentum and finding the most efficient way to permanently disable your opponent. Though the morals of that is up for debate lol. Something like if they throw a punch, you sway, grab the forearm, swing them into a closeline by your other arm which drags them to the ground where you can choke/snap. Stuff like that. The closest mainstream form I have found is Moy Tia

I'm so glad of getting this
Training has changed over the 50 years when I took police training on dis-arm procedures. The way I was trained is the grab the gun on the inside of the gunmans wrist. With the opposing hand hit the wrist inward. This loosens the grip on the gun. The way shown here tightens the grip. So, depending on the hand holding the gun, I would grip the gun with either my right or left hand.
I used to practice with my brother, who was also a cop. He had the fastest reflexes of anyone I knew, and I could always take the gun away before he could fire it. We were careful to unload, and had the gun cocked and safety off position. Anyone truly interested on dis-arming a gunman should practice the method I propose. If there is any kind of fight for the gun, by continuing to rotate the gun around to the back of the gunman's hand will break his trigger finger. So, that effectively ends the fight.
Also the muzzle pans mans head and shoulders just a few microseconds after the assailant may just have pulled the trigger.

Here is what I learned from my ROTC course
1. It only takes 5-7 pounds of pressure to pull a trigger. No matter how fast your hands are it, will not be as fast as a speeding bullet
2. Self-preservation should be your priority. If it pays to be a little more patient, do it.
3. GUn disarming is risky. The probability of you being able to successfully disarm is a lot less than you think. So go back to number 2
4. If you believe that you will be shot anyway, even if you give the other guy what he wants, then maybe attempting to disarm is the best way to go
5. Do not expect that it will go as smooth as how it appears in the movies. Expect there will be a melee and you might wrestle with the guy
6. There is always the possibility that the gun can go off in the melee. SO make sure that the guy that the gun is not pointed at your head or any vital area.
7. Do not attempt to disarm when you are too far. You will definitely get shot if you try to lunge forward

It is a great one off product for learning effective self defence moves minus the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my close friend Aubrey at very last got astronomical results with it.
