Awesome work by the PM for the Morant Bay Urban Center the PnP promised to develop the old good year factory but it was not manifested, Jlp is not perfect but deliver for the most part, for me its about the party that get things done.

Fair is Fair .. and respect is due to this government to do what they are doing for this Parish that's been abandoned from even before independence..
I hope all the plans/visions outlined for the parish by the current PM will come to reality. In the history of the parish, there has never been a time when the parish has seen many plans for development becoming realities. Well done Mr PM for executing a master plan for the parish.

I think the old courthouse should be remodelled and used for the Modern History Museum. "Elite Jamaica" Channel has some very good vlogs highlighting old plantations that are not documented that can provide a lot of untold history about the parish that can be added to the museum.

looking on from the aerial view pf tbe areas ypj showed and the existing bypass im confused as to how they gonna go about this ptoppsed plan to improve the trsffic flow bypassing the town

Isn't it already a undeveloped public beach? This could be improved.
I am happy that the government is finally planning to do something about Morant bay.
I am however disappointed that:
1. The bypass road is not new, but only a new designation. It is still has two lanes, where traffic have difficulty passing each other. I wouldnt be surprised if that was one of the roads on which the colonial government of 1865 killed the 400 jamaicans who only wanted lands to have a decent income.
2. This proposal for a big museum for jamaica's artifacts is another promised that will never be fulfilled in Morant bay. This town doesn't have the space for this. Spanish Town square is much better suited.
Morant bay would have a better economic future with a real four lane highway to the north of the present town.
The Morant Bay Urban Centre can houses the museum
Is there space for such a museum in the new urban center? If there is, I can vision a walking tour from the new museum to the " martyrs burial spot at the old court house and it's environs.
Increase economic activity demands more than two lanes bypassing Morant Bay.

Are you sure the existing road will be the bypass? What will that do to improve the traffic problems in the town?
The road below the town is the bypass road so there can't be a bypass for a bypass and even when its road work on the bypass road is completed its not going to improve the traffic flow by much.

I'm confused too because it's the regular old main as you said, which bypasses the town but I guess it said it to make it seems for than what it is
@ 0:48 the PM indicated that it's the old bypass road that will be rehabilitated. The question is, how do they plan to upgrade the bypass to make it more than it is now?
