My Largest and Favorite Travel Watercolor/Sketching Kit, #3, with Jessica Henry Gray

Hi everyone! While I know that most of my videos are oil painting, I believe it is the best practice to have "at the ready" any sketching kit. As we approach warmer weather, here in the northern hemisphere, I believe it is important to further develop your observational skill set, even before heading out to plein air paint. Quickening your observational skills will speed up your efficiency while plein air painting. I want to share my suggestions for three kits that I have found to be most useful for me personally. I have been chipping away at the perfect watercolor kit for years. I use the compact size of an airplane tray table to be my point of reference for keeping the kit tight and efficient. This is my largest sized kit.

A lovely kit! If you prefer the silver for the inside of the Between the Acts tin - if you clean the top inner lid with isopropyl alcohol or an alcohol swab, it'll strip the gold paint to leave you with a silver background.
Taken from my book of lessons learned the hard way 😂 I also love using old tins (I have several of the Hill's ones too!) and have accidentally stripped a few paint jobs trying to clean some out. Whoops!
