I just want to report that job went well. Runs like a champ again. All the vibrations are gone and most of the squeaks and rattles are gone. Next is spark plugs and power packs. Thanks man! Couldn't have done this job without your detailed instructions.

Thank you for your help.I took care of my mom and dad,and unfortunatley my dad loved G.M., and bought a Saturn.The alternator took me three days to figure out.
Video shots and angles were great. Procedure was perfect. I'm so glad I followed your advice marking the timing belt with multiple marks on each gear and copying the marks to the new belt. It made it so much better when I put the new belt on.

Interesting the AC Delco link says does NOT fit 2004 Saturn Vue and the cheaper one says it does. I'm taking mine in to have timing kit done and my mechanic is open to me purchasing the kit. He uses Gates or Import Direct from O'Reilly's. I found the OEM Honda kit on Ebay. Any thoughts? I've been watching your videos for your Saturn repairs, you are excellent.

Hey, I see that oil leak and I have what seems to be the same thing going on, somewhere above the oil pan in and or around the main seal mabey?
Does it matter which way the timing belt goes on?, I see in the video yours had arrows on it going counter clockwise of the engine rotation

I’m going to attempt this very soon I’m going to use this video as my be all, one question let’s say the marks are off a tooth how do I make them straight ? Do I turn the crank again until it lines up or would I move the cam crank a little to align this hasn’t happened I’m talking like hypothetically. In case it is what I should do. Great video man

Good instructional video. I checked the link to Amazon for the kit & read a few bad reviews, pump leaked, tensioner did not hold caused the timing to jump ruining the engine. Looks like 3 years since you did the repair, how are the parts holding up?

Hey Man, been following your video and I am to the point where I have the Crankshaft arrow lined up but the Left cam is off what looks like one tooth and the right cam is closer but not exactly. Question then is, I am guessing that marking this old belt is meaningless and I just need to get this engine timed by using the arrows when I install the new timing belt?
It looks like something must have moved. It veryyyyy important to line up all of the arrows, so as long as they are all lined up, you should be fine!
My alternator keeps testing good,bit batteries test low when the car is turned off,my father kept going through a battery every two years or so.
Sounds like he lives in Vegas! Our batteries go every 2 years
