It's kind of sad how no progressive party wants to curb migration seriously.
Most Europeans are fairly centre left or centre right generally speaking, and migration is the hot topic at the moment.
Most Europeans are also in favor of a more united europe, and most Europeans are also in favor of more regulated or limited migration (if the polls are correct), and yet... there's no party that Both wants a more united Europe AND less external-migration. Kind of strange.

@@balsdsa Right wingers in the US would be considered lunatic terrorists in Europe. Europe right mostly just wants reduced migration. They don't want everyone to be cowboys with guns, outlaw abortion, underfund education/higher education, abandon NATO, or reinstate the death penalty. • @Aggoenix
      @Aggoenix Před 20 dny

I would say this is actually true to Renew-Liberals. They want more integration, but are not uncritical of migration. Socialists and Greens are pushing migration, Liberals not that much. Liberals aim for more security+defense, economical growth, nuclear energy and they are softly anti immigration. They are not hard anti like Direct Democracy and Freedom, but definitely more than Socialists and Greens.

ECR fights for efficient EU, what more could you wish for? I think the best way to create EU army is to first integrate the national armies, use the same gear and buy things together so its cheaper, faster change is unrealistic. And QMV sounds great, but basically means that 5 countries decide everything, more rational approach is supermajority where you need both 85% of countries and 85% of population. This would be something that ECR might consider, because it would fix the Orban problem without giving up too much sovereignty.

As for Belarus, I wonder what the views are from the people of Belarus, we all know what the government thinks, but as we know, there are two sides to every story, the government and the people, if there is enough support among the people to want real change, then I can see merit in supporting that, but it won't be easy with the current government and because of Putin, which the last thing he will want is to lose Belarus, which for Putin, he sees them as a satellite state, basically, a country that does as it's told and does Putin's bidding, so unless there's a major uprising from the people, I don't see much changing.

      1. "Wokism". Can't really undo the damage, all that can be done was stop mentioning it and presenting it as the modern option. Everything has a saturation point.
      2. Well, illegal migrants you mean. Can't really have anything cheap without cheap labour and, well, skilled immigrants do make good workers much needed in countries with falling birth rates. Plus you need them as taxpayers.
      3. Agreed, abolish useless bureaucracy but keep it in some sectors, for instance, good quality. We definitely have better food here almost anywhere thanks to European bureaucrats.
      4. I wholeheartedly agree here. People shouldn't dream solely of good pay and mediocre jobs, they should be freelancers and entrepreneurs in tech and other sectors. We can definitely learn from the US on that one.
      5. No to China.... Pretty complicated as we don't really share the same vision as the allies over the pond, but I definitely agree that ROC is the only China. PRC is definitely a cheap copy of China. Can't deny that we'll shoot ourselves in the leg if we stop doing trade with them, although here I would propose automation of European manufacturing so we can be competitive.
      6. Mate, anyone shall be able to choose if they want a family or stay single. Do you mean something related to abortion here or what?
      7. A bit vague, what do you mean by national tradition?
      8. Again, please detail.
      9. Pro defence: wholeheartedly agree again. 4% of GDP minimum. Cut welfare spending and let people have more sources of income and pay less tax. Also, privatise healthcare but still spend some money (subsidise few health services - ER and insuline caps for example).
      10. Green manipulation. I am going to be honest, everything that is presented by the press and politicians seems very vague and mumbo jumbo on this one, although we can't deny that fossil fuels will run out at some point. I'll propose extraction of the same resources on other planets because, well, life does need carbon dioxide to exist. Sometimes even no pollution is bad. There has to be a balance. Although I would still allow fossil fuel cars on the road but require aeroplanes to run on more sustainable fuels, they pollute way more. Also impose some actual pollution controls on the big businesses that actually do pollute.
Anything else that you missed and think shall be addressed by MEPs more?

However the AUR party intends to join the ECR and unfortunately they have a lot of percentages in polls.
With the exception of the ID group which is more extreme, the ECR group is among the more EU-sceptic and more NATO-sceptic even if they have moderated their stance.
And with Romania being an ex-Warsaw Pact country and a belligerent expansionist Russia next door, parties that go against EU unity and NATO unity, are a threat to stability and peace.
I have grew with and seen personally how desperate everyone in this country was in the 90's for Romania to join both the EU and NATO and do everything possible to keep the Russians as far away as possible. And it worked. Narratives that claim NATO was taunting Russia by expanding are just false. It was the ex-Warsaw Pact countries that wanted to join (and would have sacrificed many things if needed just to be accepted) not the other way around.
I think these lists of parties should be updated to also show parties with the intention to join, not just parties that are currently members of the groups.

Should our defense depend completely on a foreign organisation such as NATO? ECR is clearly against it, a funny way to defend our nations!
Also, how do you want to make European institutions work better if veto right continues to exist? One single European government can literally block the entire Union and you agree with that? That means more bureaucracy, slower actions. Voting ECR means making sure Europe doesn't function.

For me system would be best if participation on project was ad hoc and everyone could join and leave besed on their political situation. That would bypass Hungary veto while it would keep national sovreignity.

I am not sure about that. A government can choose whether they adopt the euro or not but there are some decisions that should be taken by majority and accepted by all, like in any other government.
If 26 countries decide that we are accepting 40.000 migrants and that they will be dispatched in every country of the EU, one single country should not have the right to block it.
If 26 countries decide that they want to create a european army and finance it, one country's government shouldn't be an excuse to make it impossible.
If we really want to make our voice heard against China or the US we need to think bigger, not smaller. And we need to start thinking collectively.

@@Eloitxo1 and that is why these decisions are not to be made ever. I do not wanna be forced to accept any unwanted migrant and my country is adamant about that and almost unanimous. We do not want to také responsibility for shitty Seedish or German politics. We do not want to have muslims in our country. Religion does not belong to modern society. Religion is personal thing and it should never again be law.
Same asi military project. You wanna participate. Good. You dont wanna. Nobody should force you.

This one is a mixed bag of good and bad proposals, i find some of their proposals very vague and not fully explained.
So i would not say i'm against their good ones, but it does not give me confidence to vote for them..
These politicians need to be careful how to deal with immigration policies or it will backfire on their country and Europe as a whole..
Immigration is absolutely essential to keep the population numbers stable.
But do deep checks on who you allow in or not.

Good on you for spotting that. Every politician who runs on populism alone is being vague on purpose. Shouting about a problem is easy and helps them. As soon as you mention a solution however, that's when they get judged. I have a feeling that ID is going to be way worse than ECR.

Guy population numbers stable? What about completely destroying your country forever? Sorry guy most Europeans don't want to live in the migrant's country but on their own. All of that to pay some pensions? No thanks.

Migration cannot fix a low birth rate. Migrant birth rates are below replacement as well. Increasing the birth rate is the most important issue.

    • @user-ly1fk9kk9d
      @user-ly1fk9kk9d Před 18 dny

Low birthrates is a scarecrow everyone sticked to without having clear reasons.
We cry about low birthrates and, in the same time, why cry about insane rent prices and the impossibility to build yourself a house (while low birthrates can resolve that problem).
The only real argument is that it will be hard to pay so many pensions when a big percentage is 60+. But people inevitably die one day or another and after it will be better. And even this is discussable if you ask me, because we are closer than ever to a society in which the man is not forced to work thanks to AI(and then pensions won't be a burden anymore).
