Just started following you. I can relate to your story. You are so brave. I wish you all the best. I have plans to travel myself soon, and I am inspired by your journey. Thanks, Stacy R.
I think you are so brave for traveling alone with your dogs and driving everywhere. I can imagine the feeling of vulnerability when you have everything you own and love in your car and you don’t have your home base yet- quite a feeling of displacement. But you seem to manage it with grace and ease and a positive, hopeful attitude. I love watching your honest perspective on your travels.
I haven't seen such beautiful imagery of Tequis before and I live in Queretaro haha... thanks for the nice video, I hope you keep enjoying this country. MX
Welcome to Tequis!! Im a local, me and my wife can give you the best tips for your stay here. Im also a Doctor so if you are in any medical need.. im here to help!!
I'm not sure why your video popped up in my CZcams feed. I relocated to the Philippines a few years ago to retire. But I was happy to learn about the town of Tequisquiapan. It looks lovely! Wish you the best!!
Actually, I’ll let you in on a “secret”… number one rule is: Mexicans don’t like the obnoxious term “expats” being that Mexicans in our country (USA) are called immigrants! you wanna settle into a nice lifestyle in Mexico? Learn to speak the language and don’t separate your self from the locals by labeling your self as an obnoxious “expat”
Tequisquiapan, located in Querétaro, Mexico, is a charming colonial town known for its well-preserved architecture, vibrant cultural festivals, and relaxed atmosphere. Key attractions include the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, hot springs, and hot air balloon rides. It's part of the Querétaro wine region, offering wine tours and tastings. The local economy thrives on artisanal crafts, traditional cuisine, and tourism. Easily accessible from Querétaro City and Mexico City, Tequisquiapan enjoys a temperate climate, making it an appealing year-round destination. Great video, Mora Margaret!
Welcome to our little magic town of Tequis. I'm a physically disabled American expat and have been here since 2019 and I love it. I've been living in Mexico for a total of 16 years in different places including Cancun, but Tequis is my hands down favorite.
Hi Mora, I'm glad to see that you are happy in your new town! I noticed that you are driving a Lexus SUV, and wanted to ask if you have found a shop or dealership that can repair your car, since Lexus does not sell cars in Mexico. I plan to move to Queretaro and want to take a Lexus over there, so I am picking your brain and experiences on the matter. Greetings!
Good question! I didn't know that Mexico doesn't have many Lexus dealers before I came here. Turns out they recently opened 5 in the country. I was a little worried about this but it seems Toyota service providers can do the job. I hope.
Nice video, hope you enjoy Tequis. My 'gringo' partner and I spent 2 years in the area, 6 months in SMA and the rest in Queretaro city; we found life in Queretaro best and while we only visited Tequis I think is a great place.
Great video!México has more than one wine and cheese cities….another great place is el valle de Guadalupe in Baja with more than a hundred wineries and restaurants.
Wow you're a Beautiful woman and you have the biggest guts, To travel alone. I'm a male but don't have the guts to do or travel alone like you. You do have very nice videos which I enjoy very much. Many Blessings and Thank You. 😊
Thank you! It was a little different than the usual rental. I made an acquaintance on facebook who was just moving from that rental to a more permanent home. She gave me contact details for the owner and I made him an offer he couldn't refuse. It was really nice, private and had some outdoor space, so it was perfect.
@@MoraMargaret Cool. I travel with my little pup - 20 lb Havanese. He's always with me so of course, always looking for places Dog Friendly. I'm learning Spanish and looking for a long term home here in Mexico so delighed to watch your videos!
I have no doubt that you are a nice lady. That being said. Sadly I hope the immigration from USA citizens to Tequis, will not end like San Miguel de Allende or Ajijic, where now it’s impossible for locals to live in. You came here and only take advantage of the economic opportunities. Earning dollars and spending pesos. This is not a play ground, or a privileged bubble. Enjoy your stay, respect the culture and local people.
Thanks for your comment. It is a worry that any other beautiful towns in Mexico become gentrified by richer people moving in. The towns initially benefit with shopkeepers and service people making more money, but then it goes beyond a certain point and becomes like Ajijic or SMA, like you said. I did enjoy my stay there, and I hope not to add to the problem. I respect the culture and people very much.
The problem with the gentrification is not the people…everybody is looking for the opportunity per say…the problem is with the government who has no rules when it comes to rent or buy a property…now this have a advantage and disadvantage…with the right amount of money you can have your dream house in Mexico, no rules how you wanna build it…but for the regular folks in Mexico there’s no way to compete…
@@MoraMargaret apologies! I have a friend who just recently said I should visit tequis. I only meant to share. You are fab and amazing. I love your videos and am learning so much❣️
ok well i try to get through your videos as im interrested but i only last a few moments due to the abysmally bad and deeply irritating music. Yeow! its awful, beyond my tolerance anyway.
Mexico is okay, but so is every country in Latin America. Of course, Portugal and Spain might disagree, not to mention southeast Asian countries. However, based on numbers; the United States reigns supreme!
