I did the Les Paul part. Thank you so much for featuring him! He is such an integral part of Waukesha’s history. One of our major highways through town is called Les Paul pkwy. One of the middle schools was named for him a few years back. In downtown, there’s big 12ft guitars all over honoring him. The bar he started playing at(Club 400) is still there and has that old school feel.

This episode was a treasure trove! So many people I loved and admired.
I was happy to see Alan Freed’s resting place. There were many adults who thought once Alan Freed was ruined by the payola scandal rock & roll would die. Nope. Not happening. I’m grateful for his introducing the world to R&R.
Before my newspaper days, I was flattered to hear from my writing instructor that he believed I could be a humorist like Erma Bombeck. I never had my own column, but I did become a feature writer. Thanks to Erma for paving the way for women as newspaper humorists.
I was very excited to see the grave of James Thurber. I became a fan of his writing in junior high, my favorite work of his being the fantasy novel The Thirteen Clocks.
And Dave Thomas. My mother worked at Wendy’s and really liked working there. When Dave died, we both cried. Mother said it was like losing a member of the family.
Another great show! Thanks to all who contributed, and thank you, Arthur, for putting it all together.

I spent time with Dick and his wife Joey in Rockford, Michigan in 1992 just before his death as we were working on a book together. I'm gonna see if I can get Dick and Joan buried side by side. More on that later. I met Ermma Bombeck in Paradise Valley in the 70's. Sweet women and funny as all get out. When did movie stars become so dark and Satanic? Was it when the elite realized that an actor like Ronald Reagan could become the president? I heard that after the Reagan was shot, he was given two hospital choices. One meant certain death and the other he would survive. Today’s stars are comprised Epstein style. Keep them on a leash.

It's sad that we can't even go out and plant flowers anymore. Even bringing additional people as lookouts doesn't help because there are crypts and large family plots that criminals have hidden behind.

Nirvana, Pearl Jam other Seattle bands contributed money to hire a private investigator to continue looking into the crime when the case went cold. Joan Jett also contributed & went on tour with the remaining members of The Gits to raise funds for the investigation. Mia's murderer was finally found & arrested in 2003, He died in prison in 2021. I know if you were a child in the '70s, a trip to Lake View Cemetery was automatic for President Garfield's mausoleum. It's beautiful inside. The cemetery is located in Downtown Cleveland so it's an easy walk to it. Would visit during lunch at times. I grew up in the areas of Bedford Heights, Mayfield and I didn't realize that one of the Israeli athletes was from Cleveland. And for the Buckeyes, O-H-I-O!! The beer bottles for Eliot Ness represent the beer that is named for him made by the Great Lakes Brewing Company, also located a short distance from Downtown Cleveland.
