Ironically, Professor Oak is the original idea of this, because in Gen 1, he was originally planned to be the true final boss after defeating the Champion, much like how Red became for Gen 2.

I think Lorelei and Agatha put Red in an ice prison in the manga

@@Gyrokun i always thought red was in a cave that was lit up for some reason
This theory makes a lot of sense since it would explain why Red just happened to be on top of a massive mountain for seemingly no reason.
MT. Silver has the highest wild level pokemons around. So probably for training purposes.
Oak was on top of Ash's mom meanwhile
@@Nippelzieher Wtf..
Red is the strongest trainer that time and basically he has nothing else to prove setting aside completing the Pokedex. He beat his rival, he completed the Kanto Region Pokedex (Idk if he completed in Johto) he is the reason why Giovanni left and abandoned Team Rocket.
He just there to find rest and peace after all the success he has made.

Also whenever Gold defeats the elite 4 again, Red appears again for a battle. This is maybe stretching it a bit- but it's a fun headcanon. After their first fight Red and Gold agree to meet up every time after beating the elite 4 to test each other again.
Me who uses this method to grind my pokemon to lv 50
@@mohdsajidsiddique8607 broo💀
The original games you only battle red 1x. You can beat the elite 4 as many times as you want but you only get 1 shot at red.
@@exile6129I thought he reappears if you beat the elite 4 each time
@@jinx1599ablehe does
I just love how the elite 4 are usually OP and intimidating as heck in the anime/lore, but then you have the games where literally every single game, the elite 4 are demolished by a single 10yo with a max level starter and all the legendary Pokémon of the region 😅
yeah i mean you could always over level as well and just gigachad sweep tf out of all 5 of them
All pokemon protagonists are battle prodogies in canon. The average trainer can only level about 3 pokemon at a time.
That right there is why I wish they'd have an actual like... Meta Realistic Pokemon game. No 'planned' travel route, just events that happen as you hit certain progress points like side quests and main quests in Skyrim. Have pokemon that scale by region, etc. But the biggest thing, have trainer battles and particularly Gym Battles be IMPORTANT. Like it doesn't matter what Gym you go to first, the Gym leader has 6 Pokemon, all at like level 50, they are the leaders of their respective element and Gym, they'd be training constantly. They should be a CHALLENGE.
Moreso going up towards the Pokemon League, teams you face should be varied and full rosters. Ace trainers should be people who likely BEAT those gyms, teams of level 60 and higher, and the Elite Four? Level 90+ across the board, and the Champion, 6 x 100 you wanna win you can't over level and stomp. You have to EARN it.
@@OnimaruAnji game is for kids bro and game freak hasn't changed their formula once in two decades
@@noparkingnoparking I'm 40 years old, I've grown up playing Pokemon, I've played damn near every major installment. It's more than just a kids game, hell I'm likely pretty certain that MOST of their fanbase is 20+ it's just kid focused enough to continue to bring in MORE kids into the fanbase.
An adult focused Pokemon game would flourish, meta has existed since Pokemon Red, and a game that let's you make 'master' grade pokemon where you have access to their whole move list, rather than the 'four move limit' teams would open the battles playing field to a whole new level of combat and strategy. Pokemon has always been an 'easy to play, difficult to master' game, one that focuses on that Mastery to let long term fans geek out in a Pokemon 'World' rather than a new 'region' would be epic.
Red is the very best there ever was. He waits at the top of Mount Silver because he's the last "mountain" that you need to climb to be the best.
It was a trip to see your old character from the previous game as the final and most powerful trainer in the game. It made my RBY second playthrough more interesting knowing how things are gonna play out and change in just a couple years.
It's stated in the manga, that Red got hurt bad during his battle against the elite 4 (the manga is a lot more violent, it was not in any way, shape or form a battle like the games) and had to go to Mt. Silver because of the hotsprings there which could help him heal.
@rusttoyoung1912 which Pokemon manga is the best to read? I love manga and pokemon but never started any series, because there are so many.
@@ITSONSIGHT. the pokemon adventures manga - yes, that is the actual name - is the series that connects the various games and explains in game details that can seem odd.
E.g: people complain about Juan being weaker than Wallace, as eighth gym leader, in emerald - in the manga it's explained that by the time the player comes along, Wallace already beat Steven, but turned down the position of Champion, for the position of gym leader for personal reasons - no unnecessary spoilers - and only takes up the position because of Kyogre and Groudons rampage.
So, as a champion level trainer, it makes sense that Juan be weaker than Wallace.
It's a great series, because it really explores what living in a pokemon world would be like.
The battles aren't straightforward, there's some real shonen type tactics involved and the series is NOT afraid to get DARK on occasion.
Seriously, I'd highly recommend it if your looking for a more mature take on the pokemon formula - just give it a bit to get more serious. If you start from the 1st volume, it's when team Rocket shows up in Mt Moon that you start to realise, that this is NOT going to be like the games - the admin overseeing the operation makes sure of that.
I think this was because Lorelei froze Red iirc? Then he had to go to Mt. Silver to heal his wounds borrowing Blue's Charizard and Green's Blastoise in the process thats why he has all 3 starters there.
@@rusttoyoung1912what manga an chapter is this?
@@brba245 it's the Pokemon Adventures manga (yes, that is the actual title). Can't remember what chapter it is exactly, just that it's in the Johto saga - been a while since I've read it.
Pretty sure it's the chapter where Blue becomes Viridian City Gym Leader, though.
In the manga, Red is the one to actually apply for the job. However, towards the end of the issue, he becomes unable to catch his returning pokeball, a basic trainer action. Red is then forced to admit that ever since the Elite Four incident, where he was frozen solid in ice, he's been having trouble using his body correctly, due to his injuries, and thus cannot take the position as Gym Leader. Instead, Blue, who was in attendance takes the position on his behalf.
Meanwhile, Red goes to Mt Silver for healing (the springs there are renowned for their healing properties).
the most iconic battle is people smashing the a button against the truck
Red is indeed the best trainer he completed the pokedex, caught Mewtwo and had an insanely strong Charizard

There was also a theory (or was it true?) that the true objective of Oak's journey was to test out the other function of the Pokédex - being able to read Pokémon data such as their health and stats. Most other trainers do not have a Pokédex, and are therefore at a disadvantage when facing the Dex wielding characters.

That part you suggested about Atem being to dependent on Exodia would fit right in at Atem vs brainwashed Joey in Battle City.
Marik makes his rules for the duel for no Slifer as normal but also no Exodia and the duel proceeds as normal if not a bit worst with Atem’s over reliance on Exodia.
Red is the best
According to the pokemon adventures manga, Red was up at Mt. Silver to recover from a frostbite injury that he had recieved.
This battle took me forever to win one of the most memorable moments in my childhood for sure

Im not even mad at this theory its pretty damn good😁👍
Remember that red is one of the few people who actually became a Pokemon champion canonically.
as a kid I thought reds team would be my own team from red version 😂
I mean manga version of Red goes to Mt Silver in order to soak in springs that he was told could cure him from the numbness that he got when he was encased in ice from Lorelei.
Manga says red was there because of the hot springs because he got hurt whilst fighting Lorili that made his hands and feet freeze every once in awhile if I remember correctly

Honestly that's a really cool theory that Oak pushed Gold, so he would be a better challenge for Red.
The only problem i have with it is Oak telling Red going to Mt. Silver, as he doesn't get anything out of it. I think it's better for Red going to Silver on his own volition to train, and Oak does Red a favor unprompted by pushing Gold.
They should make this battle happen in the origin stories
This is why I love the Johto storyline
“Yea Red go up on Mt. Silver. No you won’t need a jacket I think it’s supposed to be 78 today”

ETHAN ITS FKING ETHAN
In the comic books, red was captired by lorelei and frozen around his hands and feet, evsn after he was freed the ice still affected him, according to their folklore Mt. Silver was a "magical" hotspring that could heal any sickness

I believe in the Pokémon Adventures manga, Red was on Mt. Silver because he was injured by a stray attack from Team Rocket and went to rehabilitate his hands.

Gold: here tosses reds head to professor oak
you need oak's permission to go there even you are champion.
I think red wanted to catch some legendary pokemon on top of the mountain and just died from freezing in the process
i thought he was trying to find mew at the mt. silver
I always assumed that the reason why Red was in Mt. Moon was due to Mew. After completing the pokedex, he realized that Mewtwo came from Mew so Red searched for Mew in all of Kanto. He somehow got obsessed of trying to find and catch Mew that somehow he kind of lost his way which is why he didn't come back home in Pallet town and was not able to fulfill his duty as the champion of Kanto and Johto. His battle with Gold somehow made him snap into his senses and went back to his family and friends, ultimately deciding to go to another adventure around the world.
Oak's basically just a kingmaker
Reds nephew ash has had a life altering journey 😊.
Red was def the hardest trainer I ever faced
I have read a theory that he’s there because of his snorlax. Snorlax’ are mountainous creatures who eats a lot, so Red needs the correct environment for his Pokémon’s health.
Better then red is dead and you fight his ghost
How epic would it be if at every new generation that features red, his entire team level up by 1/2 levels?
Pokemon adventures say that he was there to heal from an injury he sustained while fighting the bad guys (which villains in Pokemon Adventure are quite ruthless for an officially licensed pokemon manga thanks to the manga being created before pokemon became super duper family friendly).
But even without that, I think it makes sense for the best pokemon trainer to be where the strongest and rarest pokemon are.
Lets face it. Red is basically the Goku of the pokemon universe
He on that grind
I want to see red vs ash Pokemon battle
I always thought that'd be a cool final pokemon movie featuring ash. Like it starts with red decimating Leon and it somehow ends up ending on Mt silver with ash victorious.
Ah yes, Red. Why don't you go on another adventure? It'll be fun, don't worry I'm taking care of your mom over here.
Red is probably freezing his ass off while waiting for gold hahahahha😂😂😂
RED is borderline CHARA.
No, I take it back.
RED is CHARA.
Ok hear me out, oak sent a trainer to go to red that trainer failed but red didn't know so he just waited and thought Gold was the trainer ye was waiting for
He wants to fight the strongest? That explains why he wasn’t in gen 3 4 & 6
Therefore he wasn't maxed out like some people say as Red wasn't on top of Mt. silver for 3 years like some of the player base thinks
That does somewhat explains it
This really makes me wonder… besides Red and Blue, most of the gym leaders/Champions, even Looker etc. making appearances other than their original debut in their respective games, it’s really funny that we’ve only seen Red appear in games like HGSS/BW2/USUM but never the other protagonists from the other games…
Like it would’ve been cool that instead of Red on top of Mt. Silver it could’ve been Lyra/Crystal, Green, May, Brendan, Dawn or Lucas… I don’t mind it being Red tho but I really would like to see the other protagonist make a return in the future… 😔😿💀✊🏼🔥
Yellow I believe is based more from the anime with Pikachu as the starter and dealing with Jessie and James
Did you know that red would beat gold?Because it was never confirmed in either of the games if red or gold won because some people may not have beaten red,but looking at their morals experience and teams it turns out red would won
I think red is going to catch mew and he training to mount silver to catch mew but he didn't go until he become powerful enough to catch mew that why prof oak tell to Ethan that the most strongest trainer but the Battle red did not use his full Strength thought but it make red think that to be strongest is to find a trainer to same strength as him or a champion to catch mew
Are you okay?
@@DoubloonGoblin Maybe not
I wiped him last time and my team was largely about ten levels lower
As a wise jackass once said, you don't become Champion without knowing how to spam full restores
The battle takes place in the cave, not on the summit.
I think technically when comparing all gym leaders and boss battles red is the 4th best trainer. The one thing that held his team back was pikachu. Someone did an entire video on who the strongest gym/boss battle ever. The team red used btw was his team in pokemon silver
So it seems from this Red only traveled to the top of Mt. Silver either a few days or weeks before Gold got there. Under instruction that a strong trainer just defeated Blue and has a total of 16 gym badges. Wait there and he will come for you. So cool, it all makes sense.
Fun fact. golds real name is ethan
