Hi with these types of adjusters will I have to remove the shocks ? I have read articles stating shocks will need to be removed in order to raise the car
Removing the shocks can make adjusting the beam easier by removing the resistance but it isn't necessary, as we show in the video. The shocks were installed as we were adjusting the height. Just the same, removing a shock isn't difficult so if you feel it makes adjusting the suspension easier, have at it.
Can you change ride heights on a stock beam? Also can you change it side to side my passenger side front is lower than my driver side by about an inch and the tires rubbing on the fender.
A stock beam is not adjustable, no. More over, the beam is not adjustable from side to side. If one side is lower than the other, most likely the torsion leaves are worn out or a trailing arm, arms or a spindle may be damaged or bent.
I'm getting a lot of rubbing and need to raise my front end. Is it recommended to loosen the sway bar before making further adjustments, or can it stay on and tight?
The rear tires are 215/75R15, and we lowered the rear 2 notches on the outer teeth. We installed 135R15 Low Profile Tires on the front with the narrowed and adjustable beam and 2.5" drop spindles.
It is an adjustable 2" narrowed, link pin beam from EMPI. We installed the corresponding narrowed torsion leaves, tie rods and a sway bar along with the beam.
How much drop can I get with the stock width adjustable beam before rubbing ? Would a lower profile tire free up more fender clearance allowing more drop?
@@danielwirtz1961 Typically 2 inches is the lowest that can be dropped without switching to a smaller tire. Smaller tires will allow the car to be lowered considerably more.
@@Sam_Mebane I have 64 bug on drop spindles and an adjustable beam. It is only a couple inches off the ground as it sits now. How much can I raise it just adjusting the beam? I’ve heard that this can put alot of pressure on the beams and it can break if you go too high

Hi do you need to loosen both beams. Someone told me only loosen the lower beam?
Thanks
If you have adjusters on the beam, you can loosen them one tube at a time, certainly. The suspension adjustments won't be as pronounced typically.

Does this car have dropped spindles ?
Yes, we installed 2.5" wide 5 disc brake drop spindles and a 2" narrowed and adjustable beam.
