  • Hey, I had a few days to knock out some exterior mods on the Honda Ridgeline that required me to remove the front bumper. Because of that, I took care of all the mods I needed to do that required front bumper removal.

    Good job, your truck looks great 👍.
    My first Ridgeline was a 2017 RTL-T. I had several mods including the Piaa horns you installed on this video.
    In 2022, it was totaled by a distracted teen who ran a stop 🛑 sign, truck had 20K miles. Took the first hit driver’s side then it spun around into a concrete block wall. Luckily seatbelts and all airbags deployed and my wife and I walked away, sore but alive…
    I now own a 2022 RTL. Like you, I’ve done several mods to mine. One of my favorite is bypassing the cylinder de-activating function. All inside and out LED lights, Retrax tonneau cover. I tried to reinstall my AEM cold air intake from my 2017, but the computer in my 2022, wouldn’t have it, kept pulling codes. I’m getting ready to replace the tailgate emblems with the gloss Black tailgate emblems.
    College Hills Honda IS a great resource been using them for years, Jeremy is my go to guy there.
    I use Cerakote trim product and it’s great.
    Anyways thanks for sharing 👍🇺🇸

    Just some info that I have not read or have heard owners talking about: I just bought the 2024 Trailsport Honda Ridgeline. Testing different octane levels... the midgrade works great (price vs mileage benefits) for the west coast, Oregon, at an elevation of approximately 1000 +/- 250 feet. When I added a Honda 100XR "Leer Cap" to the bed of truck...I now have a "cheating way" to add to the more shallow bed height as I gained increased security, and the in bed storage capacity too! Also, the in bed storage access (lift up the bed) still works, as it should, with the cap on! Thus, it can be fully lifted without any compromise(s). Plus...my mileage just increased approximately 3% with this cap!! When I purchased the Leer Cap, the dealer and the Leer company said it would "probably improve the fuel economy"... I know it adding weight and this increase in fuel mpg just sounded to good to be true. However, it has increased my fuel economy, indeed!!!! Thus, I wanted to share same. My thoughts to improve this vehicle are: Please level the truck so the front end is level (if possible) to the back end -- so it will look more like other trucks. I agree with most Ridgeline owners to raise this truck at least "one simple inch or more"! I am most upset that their is no option to install an accessory in the bed on the passenger side "storage box" for either a 12 VDC &/or a 120 VAC outlet available --- like the Black Edition has on the 2024 models! I mean really, the Trailsport is idea for camping and such...duh. In fact, I feel all the trucks models should have this simple option as I am a DIY person and a weekend warrior too! At any rate, I like what you have done with your truck, indeed! You all have a great day.

      Thank you, we have leveled off the front 1.5" and added 265/60/18 tires. It looks like it should and only still has a slight rake of 1/2" in the back. Recently we added an exhaust and a High Volume air intake. Honda makes those jobs easy. Thanks for watching.

      @@828findadventure I am curious about the front end lift that Honda did. Was it the "J-Sport" or other lift such as the (spelling) "Trauxx?"... Thank you!

    • @828findadventure
      @828findadventure  Před 2 měsíci

      @@hoppyhourgirl It was the Jsport 1.5" front . I decided to leave the rear .75" off for now. After install there is still a half inch lift in the rear so I'm ok with that. I went with Jsport because it is cnc machined out of a block of aluminum. Powder coated steel is not 100% protected from rust.

    • @hoppyhourgirl
      @hoppyhourgirl Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@828findadventure I was doing some research for this vary situation and found that having that slight 1/2" in the back will possibly help should you carry something heavy in the back as it will help with your front steering control and also help with the lights at night as Honda does not have an adjustable headlight device like I have with my Toyota Tundra! Thus, that said, I agree with your thoughts for same and I feel that is what I plan to do also! Lastly, if it is OK to ask what it cost for Honda Dealership to install the Jsport 1.5 lift kit -- as I was going to shop around for same (I live in Southern Oregon), and I like the Jsport powder coated aluminum for less weight, and helps prevent rust, indeed! Thank you again, .... Ali

      @@hoppyhourgirl the install plus alignment was around $500 including tax. I had it done at an overland vehicle place since they lift all types of vehicles including Subarus. You are correct about the headlights, tundras are easy but the RL can still be adjusted manually. Tundras rock, I have a 2021 as well.

    Upper portion of the grill painted black looks great. I’ve thought of doing that but wasn’t sure how it would look. I like it.

    Great job. I have the same exact truck. Im also in the process of doing everything you just did, I just did my side steps and off road tires yesterday. Does anyone know where I can get a red emblem for the front that fits a 2017 Ridgeline???

    • @828findadventure
      @828findadventure  Před 3 dny

      You can get an emblem that says Sport in red for the grille, but I believe if you want it to say Black Edition you might have to modify the one you have or buy one and paint the letters. I thought about doing the same thing.
