    Slot is well aware of how to correctly and efficiently deploy Cody Gakpo, given that one of Slots and Liverpool's new coaches also worked as no.2 coach with the Dutch international team.That coach is called Sipke Hulshoff.

    I honestly believe that Arne Slot will have the same effect on Gakpo as Klopp had for Firmino when he arrived. I honestly think that Slot will get more from Gakpo. And that’s not to say that Klopp didn’t do a great job. I just think Slot will use Gakpo differently and will help him reach his potential.

  • @Fr-ron
    @Fr-ron Před 17 dny

    sure its 1 thing to let him go past his marker, but the way slot used his leftwinger at feyenoord was to let him play a bit on the inside to let the left back (robertson) in your case advance in the space that create. i think that suits him even better, he a great in small spaces and from that area he is perfectly setup to take a shot at goal or give a dangerous pass with his great shooting, while also having the option to pass to robertson, if not robertson is the one creating space for him cuz he draws the openents to him

  • @StamenDendrobium
    @StamenDendrobium Před 18 dny

    When Gakpo 1st joined us Klopp played him in the false 9 & he was excellent, driving from deep & leading the press exactly like Firmino at his prime, nobody was saying he was not fit to play there back then & he's the perfect replacement for Bobby. Its only after Klopp decided to finally introduce Nunez to the starting line up then Gakpo lost his place & his momentum.

  • @jumbeaux1
    @jumbeaux1 Před 17 dny

    The only way we can replicate the Dutch system is for Salah to take the CF role and Szobo at CAM. The problem is where will you play Nunez then. He can't hold the ball nor pass well enough to play at CF. If Slot plays him at ST, Gakpo will have the same problems he had last season.

    well check Netherlands @ EK every match where we try some compact attacking everything goes through the middle theres no movement or a free player to be found untill the opponent parks there enitre team on there 16 and all the pace has been lost, so all that happens is simple passes to move the ball from the left to the right hoping to find a opening.
    whenever its gakpo keeping the field wide on the left hand side or Dumfries coming forward on the right is when netherlands becomes dangerous.
    most of the time teams like netherlands starts playing better when there in the lead so the opponent is forced to attack and give more space. counter football always been a dutch kryptonite.
    props the reason most dutch fans want to see a long big striker thats good with headers that could make some changes during set - pieces or long balls from the wing into the box.
    4-3-3 with LW / RW is like the most basic form of football but so god damn effective making meters on the flank. gotta stop all that galleryplay iff your not leading 3-0

    Coaches use players specifically for the need that arises. Klopp wanted him to play specifically to do certain task nobody else had the talent to do so. By the way, Gakpo did not underperform because of position. Listen to Gakpo on that round table with Klopp and other plays. After that, he improved.

    What I think that is that English people don't know how to analyze football. You are going up and down, first suggesting he be sold, and now suggesting he be kept because he has shon for Netherlands.
    Yet, you couldn't pin point the main reason why he failed at Liverpool and shorn with Netherlands. Let me school you
    He didn't shine for Liverpool because Liverpool pushes up a lot. Our center backs literally are at the middle of the pitch. Gakpo needs space in behind to exploit. But Liverpool rarely creates such space. We push up too much forcing the opposition to also sit back. So of the opposition is already at the end of their pitch, where will players like Gakpo run behind? Outside the pitch?
    One of Klopps biggest errors was not utilizing the pace of his attackers. We pushed up far too often and became predictable. All an intelligent opposition coach. Needed to do was to sit back and soak up the pressure, and our attackers will look like they lack ideas.
    Now to the solution on how to get the best out of Gakpo.
    It's simple. We should concentrate our play in the middle of the pitch, there by drawing our the opposition and creating space behind for Gakpo and Salah to run into. You can't push people back and still want to run at them.
    If you push the opposition back, the only option is crossing and nodding, which unfortunately we don't utilize.
    We need to be playing 2 players in the 6 position to guard the defence so a mistake in the middle doesn't lead to an attack on us. Keep circulating the ball around the middle and work out ways to release either of the wingers to either run at goal or go one on one with their marker.
    Whatever we do that doesn't exploit the speed of these wide men will still make them look bereft of ideas.

    Calm down, he’s scored 3 goals. One was a huge deflection, and one was poor goalkeeping. Klopp gave him plenty of chances, occasionally he was really good, but sometimes he was crap. You lot have a short memory. I hope he improves under Slot, I really do. But this is the last season for him and Nunez to be mediocre, then it’s cheerio. 👋
