  • Fellow Legends, welcome! Today we dive into quite the interesting video from a rather excellent creator. How did the Twitch Artistic Nudity saga begin? Is it symptomatic of larger issues at play? Is there some hypocrisy afoot? I felt that this was an amazing video and covered a lot of ground on discussions on topics that need to be had. I absolutely recommend that you go ahead and check out Shoe0nHead and the original video show some support for the source material!

I watched this and I watched a female vtuber react to this. Lady named SmugAlana. It’s interesting to hear a lady’s and a guy’s perspective, but also just happy y’all pretty much had the same opinion, keep it to sites made for that content.
But you said something. The most powerful answer to why not make that content is “I just don’t want to.” Alana apparently had someone suggest she do that type of content and she said exactly that. Besides just saying good on her for saying that, I also think those weird comments in the video forget that…some people just don’t want to do that or just don’t want to engage in that content. It’s not a prudish thing, it’s just…..they don’t want to.

Honestly I'm just so tired of content creators trying to get more attention and viewership by doing more sexually charged content. I'm here to be entertained. if I wanted to see that shit I'd go somewhere else. Nothing drives me away from a creator faster than their entire personality being sexually charged.

An example of "spaces" and who is allowed. Any brick & mortar Bridal Shoppe. A man walks in dressed in a pastel colored suit and says "girl, that is you". Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. Same man walks in dressed in construction worker attire. Same statement. Girl spends two hours questioning every female friend if that was sexist.

You mention Asmon in this video, and honestly it was more than an hour wasted watching his reaction to this video. He dates these OF girls and is friends with them and he spent the whole video being a white knight, it was very pitiful and disingenuous.

    Just gotta say.
100% agree on the playmat thing. As a guy in his 30s who a yugiboomer that dips back in from time to time, nothing creeps me out more than people bringing NSFW mats to local tourneys.
Dude, their are 12 year olds here. Could you think about where you are for 5 minutes? I had someone once try to defend it as "They don't get to express themselves very often and we should let them do that here." Screw that, you might want to do some internal searching why your self expression involves softcore porn around little kids.

On a rather curious thought, isn’t exposing minors to pornographic material technically a crime? Being that they do this online, it does cross state lines and makes it a federal case. I am not a fan of government getting involved in this, however I think this will become a federal issue and will ruin all content on all platforms across the board. It is only a matter of time before you start hearing about this at a congressional hearing.

    • @KipReacts

So, this perfect situation for this is look at IShowSpeed accidentally exposing himself on stream while playing FNAF on CZcams. Is that against TOS? Is that illegal? No community strikes were ever given for that interaction from my understanding.
Something can be legal, or illegal, fairly black and white. If they're a big creator, and if they want to pass down judgement, that's an entirely different conversation.

@@KipReacts that I agree with. (Sorry for the slight politics surrounding this one). We are all equal under the law, except some are more equal than others. I know this is a hot button issue, however it does have some relevance to your comment. Alec Baldwin being charged with involuntary man slaughter. I do agree with that case, and it should have been done sooner. If any other Joe off the street was in his shoes, the trial would have already happened. However given Mr Baldwin’s connections and fame they are only now charging him. It seems like he is a little more equal than the majority of the country.
(Side note here. One, sorry for grazing your channel with a political bomb. I understand and respect your thoughts on that. It is unfortunate though that we are devolving into a two class society with a two tier justice system.
Two. Regardless of who was in those shoes during that sad and tragic event, I do agree with the charges across the board. I do not think there was a malicious or premeditated intent, rather through negligence and lack luster safety protocols and procedures the events happened.
Three. Keep up the good work Kip. Especially the Chubby Electron Guy reactions.)

Yet, when it happens with them it's swept under the rug because of how bad it would be without damage control. I feel bad for him because that was.not intended to happen, expected to happen or even in the cards in anyway because of how Speed is. Now, people bring up that as if it was his fault when he couldn't have known that was going to happen. While i do not watch him I feel bad for him, even now. As someone who used to watch Twitch honestly it was three strikes.
    1. The sheer volume of ads
    2. The inconsistent rules of who gets banned

I think it's a symptom of people not understanding that, "no" in fact means no. There doesn't even have to be a good reason not to want to engage in something. You can have someone ask you what your stance on firearm laws is. Or someone can ask you why you don't like [insert brand of beer]. If you don't want to talk about something, you can always say, "No."

I found out that Twitch is stupidly over automated which is why they can’t inform users about how or why they got banned. The complaint inbox is cleared or deleted when an issue has been addressed. Someone does something accidentally that breaks TOS, viewer users in mass report the incident, Twitch views what happened and automatically responds based on the automated rules it must follow, then deletes the relevant claims from the inbox to keep it clean or clear for new claims, and unfortunately the human operators can’t find out what the cause of a ban was because the system removed the claim it has already addressed. There needs to be a databank or database that keeps permanent records on who they ban and why the system did it but that doesn’t exist in the current Twitch system.

Sounds about right. It's too big to handle itself, and it's not financially viable without a loss/decrease of whatever current revenue they're currently getting in order to hire more employees. Just farm everything out to the quickest cheapest written set of AI and let the bots handle everything. They're robots, they're smart, right? And robots don't have things like wants or needs or salaries. They never ask for a sick day or have to take their kid to the doctor. And so long as the problem doesn't affect the big earners, Twitch doesn't likely see the need to change anything. Is it broke? Probably, but why bother fixing it.

I've been very much looking forward to the Federal Reserve's findings on the Savings Account numbers for the US. From Q1 2023 to Q3 2023, the amount of Savings drastically decreased. Apparently, it's still high, but that was before Student Loan payments went back into effect, and the entirety of the Holiday Season hit. I'm just waiting to see the results and how much more we've decreased. They're also still apparently going to continue to raise interest rates. Which is going to suck for people that were sold on their credit being fixed interest rates when irs actually variable.
So you just look at these patterns, and you really wonder what is going on behind closed doors.

Summary to the issue, sexualization in the context of marketing is a race to the bottom and twitch is nothing but a platform for marketing yourself. You start off small but the escalation doesn't come down to your own personal values or beliefs, it comes down to the economic pressures of keeping up engagement, making ends meet and turning a profit. This creates a death spiral of women showing more and more because other content creators are doing so and if you don't they get the engagement money while you go broke. It's not about you choosing to do it or not, the choice is made for all women on the platform, you do it too or you are at severe disadvantage and accept that you will make a lot less money. Capitalism simply works like that in this context.

  • @Juan-Dering
    @Juan-Dering Před 5 měsíci +4

Yeah it's exposure actually. No I don't mean to make a pun. They can't use the hub, or other similarly themed websites, because there is just too much competition. So one went over, and expanded into areas where their content didn't exist yet. A place where they were unique and thus had no competition. Except what naturally happens, the copycats show up and join in on the fun, and the cycle continues. The problem now is just on Twitch side. They need to clarify their guidelines and draw a line in the sand. But they don't want to do that. Not because of the money those streamers make. For Amazon, that's a drop in the bucket. It's actually more about a much bigger cost. They would have to pay moderators in VERY large numbers to enforce a line in the sand. That would actually put a dent in their pockets.

    • @thegrimharvest
      @thegrimharvest Před 4 měsíci

Hadn't thought about that. Makes sense to some degree. Twitch likes money, doesn't want to spend any, farms out half assed solutions and calls it a day. Then immediately changes it's mind with another half assed solution to solve the last one.
I still think they like what money they get, drop in the bucket it might be. Jeffey Bezzey don't just want money, he wants all money. Same as everyone else in that echelon.
They protect the boob streamers because they bring in the most revenue, presumably. If certain employees happen to be simps for them, that's just incidental and a plus, means they'll go above and beyond their job to protect m'lady.
Funny the whole thing only works one way. I don't think there's any dudes meatspinnng off camera for superchats and donations. Seeem to recall there was some dude who got his account nuked from orbit for showing the same amount of nudity as your average tub girl.

I'm someone who enjoys sexual content. I'm not (mostly not) ashamed that I started playing FFXIV and within the same day was looking at how to mod the game to make the characters sexier and better to look at. Because, the game in its base state, isn't the prettiest thing.
Sure, I now have hundreds of mods and 75% of them are NSFW leaning, but I do recognize that this is a me thing. 99% of people don't want to do this, because they aren't as sexual as I am. And I'm fine with that.
I've considered doing streaming and lewd tubing stuff before, because that is the type of content I enjoy watching. And I want to make more of it. But I would never want someone to follow me that's a minor. I would never want to just, have people on my channel, watching me be a slutty femboy who aren't even through their first stages of puberty.
I started into the NSFW Discord and Twitter sphere when I was 17. I lied about my age, in part because I didn't want to be kicked because I was a minor and because I didn't want to give identifying information about myself to strangers.
I really hated that I did this for a long time. Because some of my closest friends, who I met literally the week I turned 18, didn't know my real age. And I lied to them about it for three years.
If you are a minor in the internet, do not go into NSFW communities. Do not. Do not interact with people, especially those who claim to be the same age as you through text.
Do not put yourself in danger or those who you might one day call your best friends and partners. Because, thankfully, Romeo and Juliet laws would apply in a lot of cases, but I knew for certain that it didn't with some of the people I interacted with.
Do not do this. Do not. Wait. If you need to talk about sex, talk to real people about it. Not Internet people.
I'm a hyper sexual person. I erp and would love to do JOI stuff for a group of fans on a stream. I am not the person you should be talking to about normal desires and levels of hormones.
Hell, I'm not even fully mentally developed. I'm in my early 20s. And every day, as my brain solidifies and I can make proper, reasonable decisions, I realize how bad kids are at making these decisions.
It is not fun, it is not cool, it is not harmless for a minor to interact with weird sexual shit on the internet.
I can literally trace nearly all of my present day kinks back to a handful of hentai and porn I saw as a 15-16 yo.
Hell, it goes further back, because I was introduced to porn when I was eight. When I accidentally was put in charge of organizing my dead dad's magazine collection while the rest of the family sorted through his guns and other things.
Those playboys are what I credit with giving me a love for big tatas and older women. When I was 13 I got the DSi, and started looking up porn. I was literally looking up Gilf and BBW porn as a middleschooler. That does stuff to you. It isn't healthy. I can promise you that as someone who has grown up with the consequences of those decisions.
I'm not someone who is a prude. I'm a disgusting degenerate. I mean that in the most insulting way to myself as possible. I do not want someone to be like me. I don't. It isn't fun. It isn't worth it. And I'm like this forever.
I'm going to find the fun and enjoyment that I can from it, because that is what I am like as a person, and how my single mom raised me to be in the best way she could. But I would never, ever wish my sexual experiences or feelings onto others.
If I can get real for a second, I'm not even sure if I will have kids, because I don't want to risk them being exposed to my sexual lifestyle.
I do want to be a father one day. I want to have a child, or adopt a child. But I don't know if I could keep my sexual aspects appropriately locked away. Like, I literally fall asleep with sex toys in my bed 95% of the time. That isn't something you want your child crawling into because they had a bad dream.
Maybe it will change when the fire of youth is gone in a decade. But right now, I would be calling CPS on myself, like it is not good.
Just keep this in mind y'all. We are affected by the crap we see online. And there is an appropriate time to introduce sexual education with the children.
Be a parent, be the best parent you can be. Be better than your parents, their parents and every parent your lineage ever has had before now.
Because that is how society works. We fuck up now so we can build a better future for our family and descendents.
I grew up surrounded by the hyper sexual early decades of the internet. And if I have kids, I will know from personal experience, from my mom and dad's generation of mistakes not to ignore and deny the sexuality of humans. But will not repeat my own mistakes of ignoring the limits of sexuality and diving deep into the landfill that is sexuality.
I will be attentive to my child, realistic about their level of development and maturity. And introduce thing gradually and clearly.
If my child turns out to be a sexual deviant like me, then they will know restraint and boundaries. Safe sex and consent.
If they are a Pura-teen, they will understand that people are different. That they aren't like everyone else and that is okay. They do not need to do or fufil any other thing but what they are and what makes them happy.

Is $57 million worth a person's dignity? NO amount of money is worth that. Society should rebuild itself such that one doesn't HAVE to degrade themselves llike that just to pay the bills.

You said evolve I strongly say it's devolved. It used to be even for large streamers, play games -> discuss games -> talk with chat. Now for big streamers it's go live -> make people wait 30mins -> react/talk about random stuff -> another 30min break -> then maybe games where they'll mostly get distracted by chat.
Small streamers now are what large streamers used to be and that's how they got big.

Something I noticed is that a lot of people expressing opinions didn't read the terms of service. Twitch is for adults, _and those adults are allowed to bring their kids._ Minors are not allowed to view the platform without adult supervision. Twitch needs make an age gate notification before the page opens, notifying the user that all users must either be 18+ or accompanied by a parent or guardian who is screening content for appropriateness.
But yeah, I agree that streamers should exercise fair effort in labeling their content 18+ if it is not intended for minors.
I was watching one streamer say they're 18+, but they didn't say that in the chat rules, chat tags, or stream title. One of the mods told me "it's in the Discord rules." I was on Twitch, not Discord. I wasn't redirected to Discord to read rules. That's one of those situations where a streamer could be doing more.

With regards to parents buying GTA for their under 18 child, it doesn't help that the ESRB has a rating system separate from the MPAA. At my job, if I was pulling an M rated game out for kids with their parent nearby, I would try to educate the parent on how the M rating is the equivalent of the R rating. Sometimes, it helped and they made their child choose something else.

38:13 Statistically speaking, some of us probably DO want to see that. 40:50 Of course it's Peppa Pig. Who else? Dora? Nah, that'd be racist lol 49:16 Hard agree, I personally don't like sounding like an idiot, so I appreciate it when someone gives me factual information about things. Maybe I'm the weird one though, nobody else seems to feel that way. 59:55 That sort of thing makes my blood boil. I don't have kids, I don't plan on having kids, but I still don't want other peoples' kids dealing with that shit. It's the same reason I pay taxes: they help fund schools, and I hate being around stupid people. Can't remember the time stamp, but it's the Amouranth part. I don't even mind that it's incentivizing women to do that. Everything incentivizes people. That's not the problem. It's when they are stuck in a situation not of their own making where they cannot survive without doing that. That's when it's a problem.

    "Married to my work."
One of the best or at least most committed marriages you could ever find as work will not likely leave you. Certainly not when you are self-employed, then it only will leave you if you truly screw up. Otherwise, it will continue to stay with you through thick and thin and even should you screw up and it does not work out between you and your work, it will continue to be part of your life, for a long time afterwards, reminding you of all the good and bad times you had with it. Mostly the bad as you deal with all the paperwork and financial obligations still open after it went south. So being married to your work really is just like what 40+% of all other marriages ain't it? 😅

My mother in law was married to her work at a life insurance company. She had a stroke and was swiftly replaced after 35+ years at the company. You'd think at least her retirement benefits from that job would be at least decent, right? Nope! Less than $400 a month... no my friend. "Married to your work" is nothing but copium unless you are your own boss and you are making millions. The number of people that fit that criteria are less than a drop in the ocean so its not a viable way of life for 98% of people. Well 99.9% if you talk about the younger generation, they are doomed to make the least compared to the cost of living as the modern rent seeking capitalism ensures they are milked for all they are worth. They are never owning a home they are guaranteed to go into debt they are not prepared to handle just so they can study and the carrer they make out of it will be returning the least money relative to the debt incurred paying their tuition. Meanwhile The 1% that gets lucky and was born with an advantage or straight up privelege will flaunt their wealth as if the other 99% could get the same if they just worked harder. Life is not fair, it has never been.
