In the real DC-3 you MUST do a two wheel landing and keep the tail in the air until there is nor enough airspeed to keep the tail up. If you land three point the rudder will not have enough authority and yo will lose all directional control and you will go cross country off the runway.
Great landing and I always learn something from you. I'll say it again, get the mod; it improves this plane greatly such as clicking the yoke and it disappears like in other planes. I've been able to successfully do both ILS and RNAV approaches but dropping the gear produces great amount of drag so I need to go full throttle when I do that. The plane will lose the glide slope and I have to manually get the plane back up to re-capture the glide slope. Upon landing, I cut the throttle and the plane comes down nicely. It won't drop out of the sky as the wings are so huge. I use my GTN 750 Premium from the drop down menu to watch my glide slope.
From my understanding, three-point landings in the DC-3 are not recommended nor used. Once the rudder drops below the airstream at speed, it's going to ground loop. The tail should be held up as long as possible to maintain directional control.
Another point, there's no shame in hiding the yoke column in MSFS. The 2D view adds a challenge you don't get in real life (or in VR), where because you have two eyeballs, the column doesn't occlude things behind it quite as badly as it does in 2D. In stereo view, One eye or the other will have a line of sight to the panel behind. I'd love to see aircraft implement a partially opaque yoke tbh. Could be done using dithered clipping in the shaders, no need to fuss over transparency and render queues.
To be fair to the instrument placement, ILS landings are designed to be done when visual conditions are so low you could barely/not see the runway. Plus, IRL you'd have a 2nd pilot helping.
Well that explains a lot about why I keep writing DC3's off 😕 😀 what a lovely landing that 2nd one was, I didn't even know you were down until you started slowing down !

What I don't get is, and I understand I'm still learning so I have the landing ribbons lol or Big Scary Red Tron Style brackets, which btw look freaky at night. But I'm leaning, well they always tell me I'm too fast, and everytime, I slow to the blue happy, no matter the bird I'm in, it so slow I stall. So I don't listen to them I just follow them in, and I get just epic landings, no seriously, I glide in and gently fall out of the sky and have the smoothest landings, in the trainer I have A+ on landings but lol when I do what the computer says I fail lol. I'm working on learn about 6 maybe 7 planes and the DC-3 one of my favorite classy (classic Ladies) most times very good landings, once in a while I'll bow and wipe the nose lol but I'm learning and I blame nose and runway contact on my co pilot. Also I spoke with an elderly Gent who flew this baby back in the 50s, at the time the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson AZ, he works there or did don't know I've since moved and that was 10 years or so ago...anyway he took me inside and walked me through start up, I have a good memory for puzzles and processes shapes and patterns, so I do remember, well, he pumped the hydraulic lever 6 times, lol I remember his says Douglas says to do it 6 times most piolets did 7 as it's a lucky number over 6, but you have to pump the hydraulic up to operate cowl flaps on the engines as they are hydraulically operated not electrical. There's a German Gent on YT who starts is I can't recall his name but search on YT DC-3 start Up and look for the thumbnail that has a beer in the lower left corner and reads Not Sober. Which is funny because he's so sober, well lol I guess Drunk for a German. Anyway his start up is exactly like the pilot who told me at the space museum. Fun Fact: If you or anyone gets a chance to visit the Air and Space Museum out there in Tucson, it's a must go and bucket list for anyone really but especially pilots. Reason, well not only do they have original real space pods from the Apollo Missions, but they have tons of aircraft, from a classic Boeing 737 Air force one from LBJ, but the famed ultra rare fully intact Catalina yacht, to the real not model, first mother SR-71 Blackbird and just a ton of other really cool stuff. There's a canopy from a F-16 that survived several direct hits and pictures show the aircraft which looked really bad and the canopy is mard and scratched up but not a single round penetrated into the cockpit!!! Anyway just a really cool place they also have I believe the largest outdoor airplane graveyard in the US. Bring sunscreen a hat and lots of water and your best walking shoes because you'll need them. They have a fat Albert like plane there forgot their name sorry. Anyway tons and tons of planes. Check them out and talk to the folks many are vets all are volunteers. Tickets aren't expensive but definitely worth it and help the museum out along with any donations. Thanks for reading.
So, how do I NOT veer off the runway????!!! I land straight in calm conditions, all three wheels down, going straight with no extreme inputs to the rudder, and it starts yawing right. I apply slight left rudder...it keeps pulling right. Little bit more rudder, same thing. It doesn't respond until damn near the end of travel on my flight stick and when it DOES I go from the grass on the right side of the runway to the grass on the left side of the runway in an uncontrollable fishtail!!! And when I give up and let go of the stick entirely it spins around 270 to the right before stopping. Tail wheel is locked and auto rudder is off so that's not my problem. Wtf?!!

This. Gotta keep flying it until the tail won't fly anymore. Once I started doing this my landings improved immensely.
The DC3 was easy to land (and fly as i flew them for 6 years) - I am sorry this is all alien to me.

I flew the DC3 for 6 years & never did a two wheel landing or did an ILS as I never saw one fitted.
Great landing. Mine are a lot rougher than that, and if I can stop on the runway I'm happy.😂🤣

It's so hard to get this thing slowed down when at full weight, I feel I need to be at elevation for the airport 20nm out.
why don't you remove the yoke if it's in the way?
The approach path does look low. All approaches look low to me in MSFS. I do think there's an issue with glideslopes in general there.
Try zooming the camera in a bit, the default cameras are too zoomed out and gives the impression that you are low and fast when you are not
