It is a story of a man finally admitting he needs to be redeemed and is totally unable to redeem himself! It's a brutal film, but one with a moral centre!
I seen bad Lieutenant on TCM a few years ago. Good movie very dark very depressing but worth at least a one time watch .
Great movie, great actor, Keitel is an uncrowned king.Perfect performance in that movie.
A great movie. It had such a limited release in the UK we had to grab a midnight show in Kensington High st in 1992 on the night the clocks went back. Everyone in the cinema has sought the film out and the atmosphere was quite different to any other movie. The film was brutal at the time, more so when it had the original Schooly D Signifying Rapper song in there- I was so disappointed when it was removed for the home release. They don’t make films like this anymore- which is ironic considering the very moral nature of the plot. Keitel was brave to have made it- it could have ruined him if the film came across as pure exploitation. Part of a clutch of 90s films that really pushed the edges of cinema- along with Reservoir Dogs, Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer and Man Bites Dog.
you got it
One of the best movies of the 90s. Also the most unsettling. Harvey Keitel gave his best performance.
Abel's definitive Masterpiece. Quite simply one of the greatest movies ever made
Keitel is a walking nightmare in this movie. It's great
Astonishing
Both Bad Lieutenant films are works of art.
This is the dark fairytale of new York.
The film featuring Harvey Keitel's junk. I really needed to see that.
Come on you liked it.
It’s a masterpiece truly
But it doesn't have Nicolas Cage shooting a dead guy because his soul was still dancing.
@@Nathan-gd7xq That was awesome.
Nick Cage gave a great performance in a remake
The scene in the church where Keitel breaks down in front of a vision of Jesus Christ, is one of my favourite and most powerful scenes I've seen in a film ever.
Bad what?
Left tenant.
