Oh man, i just wanted to use my BF5 bomber in peace, but a BFV pro Spitfire pilot decided it wasn't going to happen! So i responded in kind with my German BF109. Only in Battlefield 5

It's a stall maneuver, plane pulls a vertical climb and then stalls, Cobra is a dynamic deceleration, it's when you click a button on SU-27, SU-30, SU-33, SU-57 and more, and you get in a high angle of attack... Play DCS and you'll know..

This interaction made me think of the real pilots from WWII. In a different scenario, they could have been great friends, talking about flying tactics over a pint, but in this life, they were mortal enemies, trying to kill each other. I imagine shooting down a skilled pilot could have been both incredibly invigorating and pretty saddening at the same time.

The spitfire was more manoeuvrable than the 109 and could easy out turn it and this is a player who knows how to use a spitfire properly in a game

Unfortunately not. 109s would never turn fight especially against a Spitfire as they were energy fighters, not turn fighters like the spitfires which could fly like that but wouldn’t as it wouldn’t make sense with 109s diving and flying back up like they would have Historically.
What You are saing is partialy true, but kind of exageration. I mean, it is not true that bf 109 would never dogfight spitfire. I accualy read memories from spitfire fighter pilot, where he describes several dogfights. I dont know where are You getting your knowledge from, maybe war thunder XD

You have no clue man... The BF109 at the start of the war could even out turn spitfires, it was later in the war that the bf109 changed its shape and got a much more powerful engine and became a "full time" energy fighter...You gonna find english pilots testimonies about how the bf109 could out turn them...Also, you dont take in account the pilots... a plane can turn whatever but the pilot still has to be able to stay awake. Both planes probably could turn hard enough to make a pilot pass out...
For Sure Ah yes, I have no clue at all, says the one who doesn’t even realize the versions of said planes being used within the game. G-2s and G-6s would dogfight under certain conditions but mainly used boom and zoom tactics.
There's will always any exceptions, just because tigerfibel state to engage at 500 meter doesn't mean variable that made the engagement closer doesn't exist

Reminds me of the BF1942 aces. Those crazy buggers could hit anything anywhere and be gone before you know what happened. They could also repair themselves midair with a certain bailing technique

If you had air radar equipped I think you would have won almost every dogfight
@Blue Multiple planes from multiple countries in the late stages of WW2 were equipped with early forms of air-to-air radar. Night fighters being equipped with radar earlier on. They weighed a lot, were complicated to calibrate and very difficult to use, all for a pretty bad target reading compared to today, but they worked!
