What makes this whole thing worse is the fact that, despite the several continuity errors, Megamind 2 has the EXACT SAME WRITERS as the first film.
Theres no way in hell its the same writers. You cant possibly be serious, right?

The irony in all of this is preciselly that the writers were the only returning crew from the first movie, and they didn't even bother rewatching it to write the sequel.
@@antoniozangrandi210 I'm assuming this is a bit of a Matrix situation where they were given a very clear "we are *_going_* to remake this, you can either be involved or not" and at some point everyone involved just realized, "yeah, we aren't guiding this ship, fuck it, we're here, let's just take the paycheck at least"
At least, I'm hoping. Maybe they got some outside help on the first one or something but I'm taking the optimistic route here because the alternative would mean one or several people basically wrote the entirety of the original and have gone entirely uncredited for it. (which, may not actually be wrong. Schoolcraft has written very little but he is credited as "additional crew" on extremely well recieved/cult-classics ranging from "The Big Lebowski" to "O Brother, Where Art Thou". It's possible one of the writers he knew from one of those, much better movies "reviewed" the script)
TBH though I still don't understand how that even happens to begin with. How do you write on literally nothing, then suddenly get a major movie release? I mean it's still happening to this day and I just flat out do not understand it. Studios spend money like politicians and given they can't print or steal any I just don't understand where the fuck it's all coming from.
Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate sounds like a shitty mobile app where you have a pay to win system to unlock new characters. Looks like them too

I can literally think of a better megamind sequal on the spot:
It has been a few months since megamind decided to give up his evil ways for good but things aren't going as planned. He is struggling with being able to save people instead of causing destruction. He decides to go back to his old school to see metro man who is still in hiding. He then becomes some sort of a mentor for him and teaches him how to be a hero.
Its probably not the best because i just thought of it right now but its a much better idea then this.

The DVD short that came with the original film called Megamind: The Button of Doom, is a much better sequel.
I saw a guy comment on that video on CZcams and he gave out a good plot idea where it leads after the events of that while megamind tries to get his old gadgets back from people.

It’s insane how Megamind was voiced by Keith Ferguson in this because the same dude actually did a perfect impression of Lightning McQueen in Mater’s Tall Tales. Really goes to show that just because you have range, that doesn’t mean you can do a perfect impression of every character there is.
