I had a 922 as a teenager on the farm. Liked the clips. Was a good gun. I wore mine out. Wore out two Crosman 1400 and a 760 as well. I did a lot of shouting. Finally, bought a Feinwerkbau 124 in 1977 that I still use today.
I recently picked up a 124 made in the early 70’s. I had to rebuild the power plant but its a sweet heart now. One of my favorites!
@@WalnutandSteel Yeah, I had to put a new seal in my 124 as well. But, it is an amazingly accurate gun.
Thanks Nibs.
You got that Daisy Powerline 922 grouping very well
I have one of these. I inherited it from my father when it stopped working. Fortunately most of the internal pump parts are compatible with the 880, so I was able to get it up and running again. It still has the Sears scope on it. I only have one of the holder sticks left. I'm going to try 3D printing some more.
Thank you for sharing this find from Daisy. I love this style of air rifle. I grew up without many material things but my generous-hearted dad gave me a Crosman 760 BB/pellet rifle which I shot thousands of times as a kid and rebuilt as an adult (and still shoot sometimes). A great gun. I’d never seen this Daisy model prior to your video so I found your presentation informative and entertaining. Thank you!
Got one of these a few weeks ago my grandpa got it at a auction and gave it to me still shoots nice after a little tlc
Love the 922! Had one as a kid…. I should find another.
880 power line in 177 still own one took many squirrels and groundhogs with mine growing up
One problem with the Daisy, either the 880 or similar format is how the barrel goes into the breech block. They leak air. I've used JB weld with some success.
The old ones are like that because of the nylon washer/seal that goes between the barrel and the valve body. The newer 880's are built better and that joint does not exist; the barrel is pressed into the breach block, no leaks ever.
The model reminds me of the old Remington .22 rim fires that had the nylon stocks in the 1960’s.
Those nylon stocks for the Nylon66 are splitting today. The wood stocked guns are still going strong. I looked into buying a Nylon66 years ago and many of them were failing then.
@@steveinla8963 Good info thanks for sharing.
Thats why I like walnut and steel!😬
@@Wingman115 It's very disappointing because the Nylon 66 was a great .22 rifle. ,,,and still is if you have one that hasn't cracked. They have a cult following and I predict we'll see one here on Nibs' channel someday. ;)
I don’t have a nylon yet. I have considered buying one many times but ended up finding something with wood to squander my money every time 😉
Try JG airguns they have some parts , no clips though . They do have single shot trays . I have the 922 unfortunately there is a problem can't get to seal ? Low power when I got it . Amazing how many different models they had . Sad how they went to China plastic . My Ted Williams 880 is awesome .
I really wish that air gun companies would redo some of their oldies but goodies. Could you imagine how fast the Daisy 922 would sell if they brought it back.
That would be cool. Love to see a brand new Crosman 101!
@@WalnutandSteel I hope you at least got the link. I believe Donnie Airguns deal with a lot of antique air rifles.
CZcams doesn’t allow links to be posted in the chat
@@WalnutandSteel Okay, well, you know who to check out then?
Rono 6 has kits
Ron is good. I'll recommend him too.
Stay safe. Heard Buffalo might get up to 4ft of snow. 🙏
We love our lake effect!
The .177 was the Daisy Powerline 977. It was amazingly accurate and sold to marksman programs. I had one growing up in the 80's that taught me how to shoot.
The he magazine for the 977 is a lot easier to find than the 922
Some guy gave me scrap metal yesterday and this 922 was in the pile . Of course it needs seals . Maybe I'll send out to baker airguns like i did for my 880
Thats a good find! Did it have the pellet clip?
Very cool nibs! Have ya resealed it yet?
Nice jobs Nibs! There is a single shot tray available too, check JL Missouri parts on the bay sight for used parts and their are rebuild kits on there too. You can call the Daisy Museum in Arkansas for production years on the Daisy 822, 922, and 22x.all .22 caliber products from the 1970's to 2014 I think. The .177 cal version are the 880 variants.
The ads I have seen for the single shot trays look like they were dug up out of a demolished building. I will hold off until I find a genuine magazine.
@@WalnutandSteel maybe send them a question over eBay for better photos? It's labeled NOS New Old Stock
Need to get into 3d printing and making your own parts.
Thats in the plans
Sorry I haven't Been following in you that much but a old buddy of mine from 36 years ago owns a big company doing gutters and metal roofing but anyway he hired me about 4 of 5 months ago to be his head machanic but I got a brand new company dodge Cummins diesel 4 door 4x4 truck to drive I'm making 46 bucks a hour and all I do is go to the shop and hang out with him and we talk about hunting guns and fishing and I sometimes change oil and filter on his fleet of new dodge rams but pretty much he hired me to be what I already was his bullshit ting buddy lol lol so that's why I haven't been talking or seeing your videos much old buddy
That has the same pump handle as the 880
Long time no see nibs hope your doing great old buddy
Doing great Mike where have you been!
@@WalnutandSteel been busy moving my father finally gave me my grandfather's land 22 year's later than supposed to be bought that land on a gi bill and the house burnt down with my dad in it but he's fine now don't even have any scar's from it but fire fighters got there pretty quick and got him out but yeh been moving from our 10 acres farm back to town
Would have loved to know the velocity on this gun. They are a bit rare. I have the 822 with wood furniture like new condition and just rebuilt but only getting about 550 ish FPS with Daisy HP pellets that weigh 15.4 grains. Actually very accurate out to 40 yards or so. I got it just because i didn't have one and mostly shoot PCPs.
Mine is very weak, I have yet to do any repairs to it.
This is a year old so I'm guessing you already found a re-seal kit for it? I hope you did anyway! Sadly, those older 800 and 900 series rifles have a different valving system inside, and the parts can be harder to find. Also they won't accept the hop-up parts from Daisy, which are intended for newer model 880's and 822's. I have an 822, the one with the wooden stock and forearm pieces, and it's new enough to accept the upgrade parts, so I did that and it shoots almost, but not quite, 700fps. In stock format they shoot around 550.
Have not messed with it yet can you suggest a place to get a proper seal kit!
@@WalnutandSteel well I will certainly do some searching for you and see what I can find. I found a kit several years ago for a mid-80’s 880 and it worked well, I’m sure they’re still out there somewhere. Have you tried JG Airguns site? I’m going to try that site again too. If not, I’ll try some other places for you. All you really need is the intake valve seal, looks like a pump cup but isn’t. I may still have one around here, I’ll check! Everything else is just o-rings, you can get an assortment kit at harbor freight and it will have the right sizes. They are nitrile which is better stock.
The only other part would be the nylon gasket between the valve body and the barrel. I can’t find those anywhere! But you can make a gasket if necessary. The new models use a different and much better design that omits that part.
Thanks, for your video,
question. what would a Powerline 922 worth today.
Hard to say. I have seen them on ebay for a couple hundred
I have one that I’ve had over 30 years, I didn’t it used much. it’s from the 80’s but it was built mid 90’s, because a family member worked at the Daisy plant in Rogers Ark. I’m thinking of selling but I haven’t decided to sell yet, just wondering what’s it worth.
thanks!
