  • So here is a video I wish I could have found when I was looking for the fuse box location on my 2004 Toyota Corolla . This one is hidden pretty well.

Worst fuse box placement ever. At least that I've encountered. Toyota engineers were angry the day they designed that.
    Thank you for the video.

So true. And if you need to get the relays out on top of it. Good luck with that haha

SO helpful! Thank you! I found the secondary box under the dash, but didn’t think it looked easily accessible. Had I not watched your video, I could have spent WAY too much time trying to wriggle my fat ass into that space.
You saved me a day’s wasted work. Thanks again!

Thank you. Less of a Toyota fan now that I see where they put that fuse box.

Oh come on...how often do you really need to go in there? I think I have once in the 7 years I've owned my Corolla and that was my fault for accidentally shorting a hot wire. Other vehicles can be an all day job just to change the spark plugs out :-) Okay I'm exaggerating a little. But for basic servicing everything is SO accessible on this Corolla. I did my friends Honda CRV and it was a hell of a task contorting myself under the vehicle to get his oil filter off. Anyway this is only one year/model of hundreds that Toyota have put out.

      Yeah...
How hard would it be though to put it behind the little coin box though like where he was expecting it.
Also he doesn't show how hard it is to look at fuses and then change them.
It's around 90 degrees today and my windows don't work and I have no AC.
I didn't appreciate or understand why they did it like this.
I've had many cars and trucks going back to 1960's foreign and domestic and this is the worst I've seen.
I also don't appreciate the trunk latch cable breaking and the bother of fixing it, the right way or the wrong way...the hire a pro way costs $500-$600!
Gee I sure am glad Toyota saved $5 by not using a lock cylinder on the trunk! (Not!)
But...yes... overall it's a pretty good car...2003 model and I'm still driving it...
Plastic rocker switch for one window broke because it's plastic.
Inside door handles are delaminating with flakes that can cut like a razor... spoiler on back is loose so I just removed it...
It has its unendearing traits too.
And some of these represent bad design not normal wear.
But yes the basic car, the drivetrain is good, one of the best.

I appreciate you throwing this video up. Most of the other fuse box vids are for European models or right hand drive cars. Maybe this is a version they did for manual shift sales in the US? Whatever the case, thanks!

You mention that there is a schematic diagram on the primary fuse under the front hood, FYI, that is not called "schematic diagram", it's called " fuse position layout. Please don't confuse us!

the 'secondary' fuse box or the area where it's located, is where here in Nevada, when getting smog checked, the tech connects a wire for his computer tester, somewhere in this area. Not coincidentally, since my most recent test, in the ensuing month, I've experienced my interior blower not working- for atleast a few hours. Then, magically, it will work, and continue so, for maybe a week to almost two weeks, then again, not work for hours at a time, before again working. This has happened three times in a month. Did the tech jstle something related to the fan motor fuse, when connecting and then disconnecting his computer test wire? Help !
