Another job well done. I did not realise the V50 was that age,it looks in good condition.

I think the Chinese writing in the brake pads might be because Volvo are owned by a Chinese company now. Thanks for another great video. I just used your gear shift blind replacement video and boy that was a big job on the C70.

China manufacture GDP is the more than sum of US, Japan, Germany and South Korea. Last year we bought some heavy equipment. We quoted some suppliers in US and found that they did not build equipment here. They would buy from China then sell to us. So we ordered them from China with less than half of cost.

I’ve never seen a hub removed from the axle in that fashion. Either a puller on the hub or a air hammer on the axle end is how I’ve always done it.

If you put your torx socket in a vise, you can tap the bit out with a punch, then use a smaller socket to hold the bit which should fit through that hole no problem. I’ve had the same issue on many occasions and have popped out those bits and used a smaller socket to hold the bit. I forgot what size the socket I used was. The bit will pop right back in to the original socket too.

WARNING!! This video is for AWD version only. Not for front wheel drive version. I own same car also 2005 but front wheel drive version and i must say the rear wheel bearings have torx screw from the INSIDE (there is no CV axle on the rear side on front wheeldriv, only on AWD) and only accessible with long Torx tools (10+ centimeters) and can be a real pain to unscrew when rusted as these must be accessed trough 4 small holes. So be warned.... if you don't have AWD this video will look easy but that Torx part is a pain!

I have a few questions: i recently purchased a 2005 Volvo S40 T5 AWD with 150.000km, i already changed the gearbox oil of the AW50/51AWD, now i want to know it the transfer case got extra oil? if yes, how can i change it and is it necessary? The haldex oil and rear axle differential oil is still the original from the factory, do you have a tutorial for those especially for a P1 Volvo?

Brake pins with hex 7mm hole is ate system. Do not grease them because ate do not allow. And there is no reason to do that, they work better without grease 👍

Are you sure no grease on guide pins? The pads need moving in and out through guide pins.

These should be dry, you can use some silicone spray to help pushing them in
