    He definitely has one of the best double lifts I have ever seen.

    • @HenkJanBakker
      @HenkJanBakker Před 7 lety +1

      It's not a double lift. That is why it looks so smooth.

      +Henk-Jan Bakker Are you joking? Obviously it's a double.
      #1). When have you had to get a break for one card?
      #2). I own this DVD. It is a double.
      #3). It doesn't matter anyway because I have a way of performing this that is better than any other version.

    • @modernillusionist5017
      @modernillusionist5017 Před 7 lety +5

      You received a reply to your post. It was Henk-jan bakkar telling you it wasn't a double lift. I'm here to tell you that I own the dvd. This is where I learned this trick. I can assure you, it is a double lift. You were right. The other guy was wrong.
      For those who claim this is not a double, ask them, "Why did he obtain a break?" When was the last time you saw someone obtain a break with one card in this manner?

    Amazing how far close up magic has come... Daryl looks like a hack amateur compared to today’s magicians

    • @UomoSecreto
      @UomoSecreto Před 2 lety +5

      LOL 95% of magicians can't handle cards like that even during a simple routine like this one. Daryl looks totally natural in all is movement, a quality most magicians never acquire: his hindu shuffle is not even detected, and I'm not talking about the sleight, but the weirdiness of the shuffle in itself. He's completely at ease and master of his domain. If anything, I wish there were more magicians today skilled like Daryl was.

    • @deelo2281
      @deelo2281 Před 2 lety

      @@UomoSecreto but then compare him to Alex Pandrea and it’s not even close

    • @UomoSecreto
      @UomoSecreto Před 2 lety

      @@deelo2281 I’m pretty confident not even Alex Pandrea would say that he’s better than Daryl. Besides, there aren’t many Alex Pandrea around.

    • @deelo2281
      @deelo2281 Před 2 lety

      @@UomoSecreto fair enough but I’ve been watching all these Daryl videos and I just cringe at things like his double lift and being able to see him thumb count 2 cards. I watch Alex Pandrea tutorials and the same move over and over and it’s invisible. Comparing Daryl to Alex is like comparing Bob Cousy to Steph Curry. Cousy was great in his era when people were less skilled and less athletic but would be destroyed by Steph Curry today.

    • @UomoSecreto
      @UomoSecreto Před 2 lety +2

      @@deelo2281 First of all you're watching something that is designed to be watched on video (Alex Pandrea) were all angles are taken into account, while Daryl is performing for the people in the room: their angles are covered (they don't see what you see), while on video YOU can see his doubles or his breaks. Alex Pandrea has a video where he himself says that he used the Daryl's double lift method for a long time and even teaches it, so I don't think he thinks Daryl has a bad double lift like you're saying. In the end what REALLY counts is not how "invisible" you are, but how natural you look. If you're natural in your movements, things become automatically invisible to the people you're performing for, even when you do them under their nose. Daryl is incredible skilled and at ease. Alex, like all modern magicians, are aware that the camera cannot be misdirected and during a tutorial your spectator is the camera, so they also take into account camera angles when recording in order to look completely covered and therefore "invisible". You think Alex is better (and I'm not sayin he's not) just because he fools you using proper camera angles in the same way Daryl fooled people using their POV to be sure they didn't see anything.
