This is a long video with lots of clips because I really do enjoy the hero. Now Medjay can actually take some sort of skill to use without brain rot hyper armor on all his moves. This really should have been launch Medjay but with the new addition of his Nomad Slash, you can now cosplay as a hunter from bloodborne and its the sickest thing ever. He feels strong and fun to play now. Fun to play against? I would say so too as he doesnt have hyper armor as a crutch anymore. ive been playing him a bit since the changes. you can chain into a bash immediately after a transitional and chain his quick bash into a transitional. his fast bash from axe can now do 12 damage. i dont get why the light is only 9 damage when he can do that.

I have over 1k hours on this game...
I played for 4 years straight until ccu attacked. Killed my whole motivation with the damage nerfs and getting rid of the ability to reliably stall or anti gank. @@juiceboxbzrk
kinda crazy how long it took since one of the biggest game feel complaints was not having smooth stance transitions, but we have it now which is good.
I mean it took most of you mfs 2 seasons to realise how broken Medjay is. Then another 3 seasons to complain about his stance switch
I feel like this rework is a testing ground for a future hero where that’s gonna mainly be his moveset (transitions)
You’d think he would’ve had a transitional attack at launch

If I remember correctly from playing him, you can go straight into his bashes after nomad swing without needing a light input beforehand
I found out that if you use nomad swing (the zone during chain) right after using the axe mode bash you get 12 damage instead of 9.
I personally never had too much trouble fighting Medjay, unless there are 3 or 4, which rarely happens

I really love how he turned out. I'm more than happy sacrificing the HA lights for those staff transitions. I've been playing him a bit since before this patch and I am playing him a lot at the moment. Really love this change for him.
They didn’t even touch his axe mode chain heavies. It still takes over year for it hit if u don’t get parried

I don't know about the official rework but in testing grounds you could preform a bash after the zone when you transition into the axe stance.
When he first came out, I got him to rep one and gave up, he was so boring. They absolutely killed it with the rework. He should've been like this originally, but he was still unique in a way, but just boring. Now he is super interesting.
You can do a bash after weapon switch zone.
This patch really open a lot things for mejay.
Medjay was good since he came out he was never bad
Yeah the bash damage is still a tad low, but really the only thing I could ask for on this character is hyper armor on the opening staff heavy - it’s off the lights, and they are the same speed as JJs so - would be nice and I don’t think too broken
Was thinking the same thing today when playing feels like Hitokiri can always beat medjay in a 1v1 match up for that very reason.
Love that they did this for him so soon. Should it have been there at launch? Yes absolutely but it didn’t take years for this change. He’s so much more fun to play and I hope they do something similar with ocelotls hunters stance to make it more fun and engaging even if they have to nerf something else from his chain. Also completely off topic but they should give him armor that lets you change the color of the jaguar pelt, snake skin and feathers.

Tip for everyone throw the heavy finisher from the same side as the zone if it hits you get big damage and so many are falling for that

you can actually do the nomad swing after bashes too, so you could do the offensive bash then zone for more damage

For future reference if you light Parry in axe mode then swap to staf mode you get a higher damage heavy Plus if you want you can swap back right after the heavy with the recovery swap or the zone now

Idk if this would be op but ever since his moveset was revealed I always wished he had some kind of counter mechanic with his stance change so if ur in recov frames from attacks u could stance change and have it act like bp flip recov cancel. The skill expression would be real cool, but base stance change would prob have to be more punishable.

Im personally fine with his bash being only 9dmg since they're incredibly unreactable and can only be punished with dodge attacks but no gb.

After zone, you do another to switch modes. It chains infinite and you can bash after it as well. A lot of combo's are possible now, so have fun trying him out!

Simply bash spam, that's why his damage is low and I'm totally fine with it.

I just started back playing and love the zone to duel amd staff.. but his axe form is still in meed of slme love.. his duel axe heavy is super slow bery seldom ever get on off , maybe speed them ul amd habe thwm a soft feint or. something..or add hype armor just to duel Axe heavys ..

too bad the game is still ass water. Feature creep is a horrible way to set the future for this game, they honest to God need to either switch engines and work from a clean slate (with less cluttered code), or revise the entire core structure of the game itself (code wise). I couldn't imagine the nightmare this project is in house, stop adding more shit Ubi and fix/correct the existing shitshow this game is.
Before anyone wants to interject here, building a modular code system IS the way to go with any project to allow for better workability from in house devs AND gives them the opportunity to better fine tune systems in a much more streamlined manner. I'd rather wait longer for them to address all the systems they have (or rewrite them) just so they can give us a much more streamlined set of content down the line.
