Same. This was almost a great movie. The action although really good, could have been better. Not a slow pace maybe even to quick of a pacing but it felt a little long and what’s weird, it felt a little short at the same time.
@@ScumsaveChris Yeah to me it's like a piece of coal that almost was a diamond but simply fell short. However it's BS that a sequel never came out cause it could of perfected the formula.
It should have been animated in my opinion. The opening scene by Genndy Tartakovsky is awesome
Priest is woefully under appreciated, a great world and lore. A sequel expanding on its world would have been great.
But its the karl urban curse…

You gotta remember, the critics also said that Paranormal Activity was scary. At this point, we should just let people decide for themselves and get rid of movie critics
the big problem was the animated intro was better then the rest of the movie which didn't do even a iota of explaining things. Like why were the Priests feared, why were humans staying in a city where it was dark and dystopian, why were the vampires put on reservations instead of being exterminated.

This universe's lore is so interesting and the vampires are so uniquely designed.
Midnight Mass has an interesting take on vampires as well.

@@coganLollins the manga is 10/10 and if you watch the anime make sure you watch hellsing ULTIMATE because the first version isnt the creator's vision/version of the manga.
Karl Urban implemented a common vampire trope: psychic attacks. Lots of vampire fiction has vampires hypnotizing humans by gazing into their eyes, Dracula, TruBlood etc. Physically the eyes have the shortest distance from direct connection with the brain so it’s assumed the eyes pick up information from the vampires eyes that puts it into suggestive state being hypnotized
This channels content is well presented for its size. Definitely deserves more subs

Everything about this movie was great
The Human vampire was kickass. Loved the western style he had. He was previously a Priest who basically enhanced fighters so he was op.
This film went under the radar for many people. If any film deserves an interesting prequel it's this. Starting from the time the war begun, the priests being introduced, all the action during the war with the priests at work, and various other things, finishing with the sanctuaries being activated. It would be interesting to see that though it's not likely to happen.
This was such a cool movie, shame it didn't get the recognition it deserved
I just discovered your channel and binge watched all your vampire and werewolf content. This is amazing! Can I ask for similar videos on Fright night and maybe Interview with a Vampire? And I know that Vampires are not the most focussed on in that film but there is "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" to consider. I love vampires in films.
I remember you remarking on the werewolf transformation in "Van Helsing" (2004). I recommend watching the transformation in the series "Hemlock groove" Fair warning, it is really bloody and should not be watched by people who don't like gore.

As far as the vampire diaries goes - I have noticed something that was never answered by the creators or within the show. That is some vampires have 4 fangs, and some have 2 fangs. Of the ones that have 4 fangs, the outers are usually longer than the inners by a small margin. The 4 fangs are on the jaw, in the front - the canine incisors as well as the the teeth next to them. View the vampire teeth of Katherine Pierce & Elena Gilbert (4 fangs) and Caroline Forbes (2 fangs). If you can find out why some have 4 fangs and why some have 2, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW. Damon Salvatore looks as if he might even have 6, with the fifth and sixth fangs sitting directly behind the canine incisors.

This movie has so much foreshadowing in it. I literally really want them to make another one.
I completely understand not being able to have Children and living with celebacy. Worried you're own child might be harmed just because they entire planet is enslaved to the church. This is close to a precognitive documentary.
In some instances there are many things that have layers of history that are very true.
The entire cast did well with it and I liked it.
I can't watch film like Mordecai and be happy.
The lead Protagonist (Paul Bettany) was in Legion and The DaVinci Code. He has style choosing roles.
Some people don't get to choose roles but I notice a trend in some actors. Maggie Q was awesome.

🤔 This vampire breed is like someone mixed a "Bobbit Worm" with the Vetruvian Man. Really fast/Problematic. That big one in the caves system "Hive Guardian". That's not a man that's a gorilla.

I think the Familiar actually gets telepathic communication from the Queen via the drone vampires. I think the Familiars become an extension of her will once converted
I love this movie. It's very rare you have a Vampire story where Vampires are dangerous. This was the last good Vampire movie that I've seen, it's too bad we can't get more good Vampire stories. Writers and Directors want to copy Anne Rice and Blade instead of making something of their own.

I watched the movie Priest and quite enjoyed it. It's different from other vampire movies and more closely related to the religious interpretation of these soulless creatures and those who hunt them.
In the lore, maybe these vampires are the origins of all vampires, it can be possible that in these universe, the human vampire, turns other human into vampires, then humans successfully slain all vampire where human vampires manage to hide themselves since they appear as humans and so on, turn other humans into vampires and that will be the beginning of vampires being human with fangs and superhuman abilities.
In this universe the vampire priest is the first and currently the only human vampire to ever exist
In the movie the half vampire turns a human into a familiar

I forgot about this movie and will rewatch just like I rewatched daybreakers recently. Strange cause I remember day breakers having a different ending, soft of like the Mandela effect. Anyone else remember a different ending for daybreakers. In the ending I remember the underground vampires that are more bat like attack the corporate office and the villain (played by the Jurassic park and even horizon actor) joins the good guys to defeat the vampire creatures. The ending I saw recently I don't remember ever seeing.. is there multiple or more than. One ending??? Hmm..

i know its old a video, but I just had a thought: Priest and Book of Eli are the closest thing we have to Fallout Movie. Nuclear War caused by mankind (for some reason or another) ravages the land, causing the humans to live in a vast desert wastelands, with some level of technology.
I can only imagine how dope it would be if the movies were in the same universe. Imagine Eli, the blind wanderer, had to protect the last bible from the Church and Carnegie, having to not only fend off the vampires, but also the priest who could have been corrupted. PLus his skill with that sword/machette thing would be devestating to see used on such creatures. Or imagine if Carnegie (played by Gary Oldman) was the head of the Church but was familiar or a vampire. Or Black Hat is an enforcer of Carnegie

This movie really had a great concept and just fell short at the end. However, it could have been easily expanded by is sequels if it was given a chance.
I really enjoyed this movie. I hope a sequel is made one day, perhaps as a TV Show.

we need to see more films with karl urban in them like why hasn't he been cast in the MCU yet? hopefully as a good guy as bad guys only last one film :(
as films go this was ok but i dont think it showed off anyones acting skills as both Karl and Paul are much better than we see in this and i think thats also a shame as the idea of this film is interesting and had some legs but it wasnt really pushed so almost no one saw it.

Oh the reason i call those vampires (the ones without eyes) night crawlers is do to the fact we see them primarily crawling and sprinting on all fours during night time while they hunt for food.
