Honestly, they should've just ended it at season 1. There was no point in continuing the series. Season 1 and 2 were ok but season 3..... I don't even know what the show is trying to focus on. All it is is "mystery plot moment" then a random ship that is doing there own thing ( I'm mainly talking about Choni because they honesty have no part in this whole "gargoyle King" thing. Toni and Cheryl aren't important characters anymore and that's really disappointing) Also since Archie is no longer dating anyone the just decided to place him with Josie...? People only watch because of "Bughead" but now there are barely anymore cute "Bughead" moments. Honestly it's just a mess now and apparently they got approved for a 4th season. Just great. it’s pretty simple, they listened to what the fans wanted, fed into memes & “quirky” jokes. the fans found out they could kind of sing & they did a whole musical, like it’s stupid.
Season 1 was actually thought out. They knew what was going to happen so all the little clues in each episode added up and the answer made sense. But season 3 seems to be written on an episode by episode basis with no real idea of what the ending will be. They write what they think will be cool and then they realise theyve left a lot of unanswered questions that they dont know how to answer so you end up with an episode where 'everything is revealed' but none of the answers make sense. Tall Boy hasnt been in it for ages and suddenly he's the big villain for the first half of the season?
I completely agree. In seasons 2 & 3, there isn't even a storyline. Stuff just happens and it's supposed to make sense. Like how it turned out that TallBoy was the Gargoyle King, but nothing adds up to that conclusion. We haven't even seen TallBoy this season. Same with the Midnight Club and who set it all up. It would make sense for a member of the club to start it, when it turns out that Hal started it. Like???? The writers are lazy. It will probably be cancelled after season 4.

I remember back at Season 1 I really thought Riverdale was a great show and loved it. But now it sucks big time. Firstly it doesn't make sense at all anymore and than the writers just can't manage to involve every character like they used to in season 1. I really loved Kevin and cheryl and Josi but I feel like this season they are comepletely pushed to the side just for new characters to be introduced that disappear in the end anyways 🤷🏼♀️ or like when Joaquin came back and I thought finally something good would happen and he just got killed. Riverdale had the ability to be such a good show. The cast and characters are great, sure they were a little flawed in the first season but that's to be expected. I don't understand how all the actors are sticking with this show. They deserve so much better and this show is becoming a laughing stock. I was watching the first episode of Riverside on TV when my friend called me. This friend, who broke up with her abusive boyfriend of about 9 years a few months prior and kept on telling him they might get back together, but then started dating someone else completely out of the blue (the last time I had seen her, she had expressed disgust this guy was even hitting on her). And she starts calling me. I'm instantly terrified that the worst is currently happening, so I answer immediately. She starts blabbering about how she just finished this book and it's sooooo great. Instantly, I'm pissed. Pissed because I was scared for her for nothing, pissed because she called me when she never, ever calls me, pissed because she won't shut up about this book (a series that I introduced her to, btw) that I was already planning on reading anyway, pissed because I ended up missing the majority of the very first episode of Riverdale and I have no way to catch up. But after watching Alex's videos, it seems like I really haven't missed out on much.

Honestly, they should've just ended it at season 1. There was no point in continuing the series. Season 1 and 2 were ok but season 3..... I don't even know what the show is trying to focus on. All it is is "mystery plot moment" then a random ship that is doing there own thing ( I'm mainly talking about Choni because they honesty have no part in this whole "gargoyle King" thing. Toni and Cheryl aren't important characters anymore and that's really disappointing) Also since Archie is no longer dating anyone the just decided to place him with Josie...? People only watch because of "Bughead" but now there are barely anymore cute "Bughead" moments. Honestly it's just a mess now and apparently they got approved for a 4th season. Just great. They aren't even trying anymore, they are just making more because lots of people ship "Bughead" ( which is over rated) sorry for the long comment I just needed to rant about season 3
So agree with you Cheryl was one of my favorite characters but she hardly even comes out in this season smh it feels like her and Toni are background characters now

They aren't gonna cancel the show, it's still good? Maybe they did abuse the gargoyle king game, but the plot is not bad enough to cancel it ENTIRELY, do you know how much MONEY this show is making? Impossible. And other people enjoy it like me, instead of ranting about how jug-head and Archie grew up after that trauma?
True, I’m so annoyed with the fact that their making another season when the last two were crap. Riverdale is only popular because it’s cast is “hot” and people are like bad plot is better than no plot but seriously quality matters more than quantity.

Going to go out on a limb and say that framing her boyfriend and sending him to jail plus bullying and taking control of the town and having his people attack her employee to get money from her is probably what caused him to go from "Daddy" to "my father".

it’s pretty simple, they listened to what the fans wanted, fed into memes & “quirky” jokes. the fans found out they could kind of sing & they did a whole musical, like it’s stupid.
if archie had responded with "you wanna know how i got these scars?" i would have dropped everything and watched the show
Season 1 was actually thought out. They knew what was going to happen so all the little clues in each episode added up and the answer made sense. But season 3 seems to be written on an episode by episode basis with no real idea of what the ending will be. They write what they think will be cool and then they realise theyve left a lot of unanswered questions that they dont know how to answer so you end up with an episode where 'everything is revealed' but none of the answers make sense. Tall Boy hasnt been in it for ages and suddenly he's the big villain for the first half of the season?

I completely agree. In seasons 2 & 3, there isn't even a storyline. Stuff just happens and it's supposed to make sense. Like how it turned out that TallBoy was the Gargoyle King, but nothing adds up to that conclusion. We haven't even seen TallBoy this season. Same with the Midnight Club and who set it all up. It would make sense for a member of the club to start it, when it turns out that Hal started it. Like???? The writers are lazy. It will probably be cancelled after season 4.

I've been thinking that since day one. What exactly was the point of associating this show to the Archie comics?
I assume it's for brand recognition. The show runners didn't have enough faith in their own material to be its own IP so they decided to bank on nostalgia and get the Archie fan views...until they threw the whole concept out the window.
And now Archie Comics are associated with being dark and broody when it's (usually) the exact opposite lol
It literally isn’t though they just took the character names and places and shoved them into a show that has nothing to do with the original comic storyline.😂

As a Canadian rewatching all of your Riverdale videos, I got to say, Flannel shirts are VERY comfortable when they are made out of good material. And not all Canadians wear flannel, soooooo, Riverdale messed up there with the Canadian stereotype.
Edit: Also they forgot the Maple syrup and moose. Like WTF Riverdale!? Why didn't he just get attacked by a moose? Those things are just as terrifying as bears. Like you can hit a moose with your car and you have to take your car to the shop and go to the hospital, while the moose just looks pissed and walks off.

I remember back at Season 1 I really thought Riverdale was a great show and loved it. But now it sucks big time. Firstly it doesn't make sense at all anymore and than the writers just can't manage to involve every character like they used to in season 1. I really loved Kevin and cheryl and Josi but I feel like this season they are comepletely pushed to the side just for new characters to be introduced that disappear in the end anyways 🤷🏼♀️ or like when Joaquin came back and I thought finally something good would happen and he just got killed. He and Kevin had a very major and important storyline in season one and there was not really an interaction at all🤦🤦🤦

Riverdale had the ability to be such a good show. The cast and characters are great, sure they were a little flawed in the first season but that's to be expected. I don't understand how all the actors are sticking with this show. They deserve so much better and this show is becoming a laughing stock. I hope some of them get out before it has a detrimental effect on their careers.

I honestly think they just get along too well to give it up. Plus most people blame the writers at this point so their careers will likely be fine, the main cast is young enough that they are expected to evolve as they age anyway. I've been in casts like that and it's honestly really sad when the run of a play ends with a group of people you love so with a show they've been doing for years they'd likely want to stick it out.

The most bizarre thing about the Bumble product placement in this show is that most of the adults are single; if the show wanted to shoehorn in the product placement, they could use the adults. The showrunners made a conscious decision to exclusively portray the app being used by characters who are too young to use it.

I was watching the first episode of Riverside on TV when my friend called me. This friend, who broke up with her abusive boyfriend of about 9 years a few months prior and kept on telling him they might get back together, but then started dating someone else completely out of the blue (the last time I had seen her, she had expressed disgust this guy was even hitting on her). And she starts calling me. I'm instantly terrified that the worst is currently happening, so I answer immediately. She starts blabbering about how she just finished this book and it's sooooo great. Instantly, I'm pissed. Pissed because I was scared for her for nothing, pissed because she called me when she never, ever calls me, pissed because she won't shut up about this book (a series that I introduced her to, btw) that I was already planning on reading anyway, pissed because I ended up missing the majority of the very first episode of Riverdale and I have no way to catch up. But after watching Alex's videos, it seems like I really haven't missed out on much.
