The legality of this case can be challenged at the close of the Prosecutionâs case.
It should have been tossed out at the very beginning. The alleged criminal payments occurred while Trump was POTUS and he has not been impeached or convicted by Congress of the alleged crime.

Recording a person without that person knowing? Really? And Cohen is a lawyer doing it to Trump? Isn't that illegal?
If it was in NYC itâs a single party consent state (eg only Cohen would need to consent to the recording) however a lawyer recording attorney client privileged conversations is very very bad. Might not be illegal but it certainly is disbarable.
He has been "coached" by the government lawyers. He's so-so in remembering what he's been told to say.
He will fail to keep his composure and get angry during his Cross Examination. If he stuck to the truth, and not try to embellish everything, he would be more believable.
It's almost as if his answers are to make him look good, & Trump look bad in every answer he gives.
When he doesn't have an answer or someone confronts him, he gets very defensive knowing that the Feds could turn around & charge him again with perjury.

This "trial" is a waste of time. None of the witnesses support the persecution's case -- which they haven't defined because they can't figure out what the "crime" was. Merchan has not exuded integrity. He should at least demonstrate competence -- else why is he being paid to take up space on the bench? A competent judge should assess what the persecution has done, dismiss the jury, and censure the persecution for wasting taxpayer dollars and the jurors' time.
