Man, you've been milling a lot of lumber on IG just to end up with a bowl blank. :) Thanks for the video. I enjoy watching what you come up with. I think that was a good use of Oak. I work so much with Red Oak that it has become somewhat of my least favorite wood but it's so plentiful where I am. Thanks again for the time that you put into your videos.

In pottery we have a wax resist to tame glaze placement. This may work with your paint and can be cleaned off when paint has dried.

I honestly can't remember which company I got them from, but theres several laser cutting companies that will do them. I just googled and emailed.
