In today's video, I do a HUGE book unhaul. I'm moving soon so it was time to clear the shelves! I do a couple rounds of unhauling and try a chapter of a few books to help me decide if they should stay or go.

You should definitely read “Behind Closed doors”!! You think it’s just a normal domestic thriller until the end, the twist is INSANE. I didn’t see it coming at all. It’s also a quick read so I’d give it a try :)

After reading my first Jennifer McMahon book this winter and really liking it, I think her book covers do the books a disservice. They look like something that they’re not.
Do not judge her books by their cover! They’re well-written and way more fun than they look.

Im not done watching the video but I paused it after part 1 where you didn't pick the Liane Moriarity book and the whole time I was thinking "dont pick it, don't.pick.it." lol There isn't anything wrong with it per se but tttt it wasn't great and it was a little anti climatic and I'm pretty sure when I read it I skipped to the end to just even see what happened because it was just so boring for me. I read Big Little Lies and The Husband's Secret and loved them both so I was excited for this but it just wasn't up to par. Okay.. moving on to the rest of the video, just had to say it while I was thinking about it lol

True Crime Story was an interesting idea, I think it’s so much better as an audiobook, I couldn’t imagine physically reading it. It’s the kind of book where everything comes together, but 80% of the book I’m wondering why are we getting all this information? I think this book is for someone that wants to read about a nonfiction writer investigating a crime and writing about it, I don’t see it as a mystery to solve. It’s not a book that I would say no don’t unhaul!!
If you like The Winter People though maybe eventually you’ll check out The Drowning Kind. With that book I read some, and put it down for a while, picked it back up, then switched to audio. It was great, I think it was my mood. However I’m so glad I finished it as it really did creep me out. Her books are historical, but it’s just because the timelines are farther back than say the 80s, and it adds to it because it creates a lore. I found the lore in The Drowning Kind totally satisfying. If you’ve watched The Haunting of Bly Manor I think that’s a good comparison, not the whole format of the show, but the idea of people now being effected by something that happened in the past and learning about that something, and being creeped out. I think that’s something interesting newer shows and novels have done, instead of just ghosts, those ghosts become real people with real stories..maybe that’s always been done and I haven’t read enough old books but I certainly appreciate it now.
    Good luck on your move!

Okay so part two, I really loved Six of Crows (It's a duo book btw Crooked Kingdom is the second book) however it isn't for everyone and it's sort of a intermediate fantasy book. Also after I read all of the ACOTAR books everryoneee was like go read Throne of Glass series, it's SO much better than the other series, and so I went and so far I've read the first two books and I know I'll probably get hate from someone if they see this and love the series but it just...wasn't for me, lol. It's got some good parts, it was good enough to keep my attention but when I repeatedly keep picking other books to read and finish that's when I know it's time to let it go and I just recently DNF'd the series. However I'll always love ACOTAR. (I didn't enjoy Crescent City either, sorry! Lol) And finally Behind Closed Doors needs a trigger warning, it deals heavily with domestic abuse and considering some of your other blogs I don't think you're really into that. For me personally it's a top tier book, I loved it and it was very twisty. I too liked another book from the same author also. Okay, sorry Im long winded haha

The Dream Daughter has been my favorite read of the year. Some of the book is in 1970s but a lot of it is set in the 2000s so it really doesn’t read like his fic. Also it has time travel elements! Highly recommend.
