Hank, I'm a neuroscientist who gives quite a few talks per year as a consequence of my profession. I hate giving talks. It's not in my blood. That being said, as someone who has witnessed a critical mass of talks delivered across a decade or so, I have to applaud your general casual style. I personally have little luck with the casual style when delivering presentations and data to other scientists (and I do imaging, so trust me, it is very similar caliber to the data delivered for storm chasing), but I always strive to reach the right balance/tone that you deliver here, between scientific and anthropologic. You done done did it here. Cheers for the non-PhDs trying to eke-out a living among the PhDs, slowly building our expertise over the course of decades, rather than hinging it all on a supersonic 4-7-year-stint under abusive academic advisers.

The fact that you are deaf in one ear but still can make music as great as you do, is simply amazing. You sir, were put here to give people a ray of light during their darkest times. Whether its a tornado, needing a laugh, needing to hear some amazing music, or an animal that doesnt know when to cross the road, you are here to bring light to all of it. Also, i have been dabbling in astrophotography, and some of the same settings you use to capture lightening, i use to image the moon, so i plan to try to get some pictures of lightening during our next storm. Hank, you are phenomenal, your humor, your Native looks (hope you are), and especially, your AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHY. You are the best, and haven't received the acclaim you deserve. As a naturalist, a chaser, a photographer and a trainer. I don't know why I can't find you on MSN or CZcams (Google), even though I've seen many of your awesome videos. STUNNING photography.

Growing up in NE Texas and being a meteorologist, Ive chased a few tornadoes, and a few of them have chase me too, so I'd say we're about even.

This is even more edifying with the captions turned on. @9:14 "We all know an outflow dominant storm is less likely to produce a potato." Heck, I'm a gardener and even I didn't know that.

Hank is a pretty amazing guy.
His storm chasing videos are widely popular, and while I’m sure there’s a thrill factor for him as he chases and documents storms, he is also very knowledgeable in meteorology, and can explain the “how’s” and “why’s of meteorological events.
Hank has even been credited for his contributions to science, in his discovering and documentation of “Ghosts” (Green emissions from excited Oxygen in Sprite Tops) a phenomena that occurs following the appearance of Red Sprites.
He’s also quite knowledgeable in biology, being able to identify various species of wildlife, and explain their habitats and behaviors.
He’s a filmmaker, a musician, and, as an intelligent, well spoken (and a really personable and funny guy), he’s interesting to watch, and to listen to. His quest for knowledge has taken him on journeys that most people could only dream of.
Storm chaser, scientist, biologist, musician, composer, filmmaker…
    Pecos Hank… Renaissance Man!
