As someone fairly new to cycling, I took the path from Bargeddie to Bathgate. Great run. Got the train back. Great video.

This journey looked very "Sussex", for some reason, I keep associating Scotland with lakes and mountains. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I like to find flat/level routes these days, even in the mountains!

HI, nice video - this is my commute (except these day I tend to WFH - and more often than not, I got the train to Drumgelloch) and I never realised that path at Plains was a shared use path -- always had to go on the road

Thanks!. There's not a lot of shared-use signage but it shows up as a 'traffic'free' section of NCN 75!

    hello to Scotland!
I watched your videos about your homeland here during my summer vacation in St.Peter-Ording on the German North Sea coast! Very well made and with a lot of statement about cycling!
    you have my subscription!
Take a look at the videos of Matthias Schueler cycling through Scotland. A cycle tour through Scotland in four parts with very nice pictures and a good travel report!

no matter what you do occasionally i find that quite surprisingly a lot of people dislike bikes even when those people are walking along shared purpose cycles paths they mutter some unpleasant comment at you or give you dirty looks because your on a bike. if you pass them slowly in order not to alarm them or ring your bell to let them know you are approaching them from behind they are still funny about bikes. on my local cycle way i noticed that someone had kicked down all the cycle route number makers on a two mile stretch of the cycle path . that's a nasty thing to do. In the UK the general public have an anti bike mentality its something that is totally alien to Holland where people are bike so friendly.

Thanks for commenting. Most of my riding is on traffic free shared use paths or designated cycle routes and I can honestly say I very rarely meet with antagonism. Sounding a bell in good time, slowing or stopping if necessary so ensure another path user is aware of my presence and followed with a friendly wave or a word of thanks costs nothing. The UK's anti-bike mentality is more often met on the road from drivers hidden in their metal boxes.

Did you get the kicked down (allegedly) number markers fixed yet?
