We got a new balcony a few years ago and I hate it beyond measure. It’s vinyl stuff and it’s a good 4 inches shorter than the previous railing. We were told it had to be up to code and our previous railing wasn’t tall enough. This new vinyl one only barely is tall enough with the very tops of the railing posts that stick up being the right height. And they are covered in gouges and anything with color being against them has stained them. I would do anything to put the old railings back and these shitty railings are so short and slippery that when wet you are better off not using them at all.
Great catch, John, again.

Don’t worry, the concrete patio will break your fall when the railings fail.
