Great stuff Steve! I saw Texas at Arundel Castle, England about 15 years ago. They were amazing. They did a version of Elton John´s Your Song which brought the house down. A magical evening. The original I Don´t Want a Lover is one of my favourite songs of all time (Love the bass and drum production especially) and let´s face it, Sharleen is an angel....

Yo Steve! I love this band and they are new to me. I loved her voice and enjoyed the meddley at the end. I will get a copy of their greatest hits. Take Care!

Hi Record is an absolute Masterpiece!. Criminally Underrated band in the States. Per the Usual.

Agreed! There are bands that I can kinda understand why they didn't hit the US charts, but I've always thought that Texas was perfect for radio over here!

My introduction to Texas was sitting in Heathrow Airport in 1997 and hearing the song Say What You Want. I did my research and bought the cd White on Blonde. I have almost every subsequent release from them. I could never get into their first three albums though.

Texas the band inspired the name of Texas the store & record label in Santa Monica , Ca. A wonderful little store & label with Downy Mildew as their first release. Store turned me on to Lloyd Cole , Blow Monkees & Orange Juice amongst others including .. Texas !

You're from Germany? Spend time there ? I lived in Lahr for 7 years... I digress.
Texas were pretty big here in Canada. It's tough to break the states if you're not commercial .
Texas has kind of long been forgotten now, but I recall they were on the radio waves a lot here up north in the 90s...particularily for white on Blonde.

Enjoyed watching this video Schnee and hearing your opinion about the band Texas. Quality radio friendly commercial band! I didn't even know they weren't that big in the States.

Hi, Steve. I bought "Mothers Heaven" around 1992 and loved it. I don't know why I didn't investigate further. I never realized they released so many albums.

Hi, Maria! Most of these albums weren't released here. Not sure if you listened to or liked the medley in the video, but they've certainly created quite a body of work. That 2CD Very Best of... is a good place to dive in... but so glad you at least got Mothers Heaven!

Hey Stephen, I tried to like Texas long ago, but they just never clicked with me. Take care...

Texas have never fulfilled their full potential even here! My friends wife big big fan! I have a few things by them! I like some stuff better than others!
On another note my family were originally from Germany! Oh no! We might be related! 😆
