Used to work at the Bank of Montreal across from the old forum and Mr. Lafleur was a joy to service. Have many fond memories of payroll days when he would visit our branch. What a fine example of a man…
He was an underrated player in the US but in Canada he us a hero
All-time legend , the contrast with todays team makes his success all the more wonderful
Guy defined brilliance on the ice & away from it - none better ... Eternal Blessings & Peace # 10
Watched every game he played as a child back when there were no helmets the game was brutal my hat,s off to this wonderful Canadian hero May he Rest In Peace always. Thanks for all the memories Guy
Beautiful service rest in peace Guy lafleur
RIP, the great Guy. I would say nothing could have been more memorable than if he would have jumped up out of the casket!
What a beautiful ceremony. What a wonderful player, and apparently, person, he was. I LOVED watching him against my Sabres all of those years, even when they beat us. The Canadiens were always my second favorite team other than Buffalo of course, but the ONLY jersey I owned was a Montreal "away" jersey. I put Guy Lapoinet's number five on the back and sides of it because I played defense, (you didn't see many of them in Buffalo back in the mid seventies) but that WHOLE Canadien's team, all of them, were magic.
Rest in peace, Guy.
