One of my saddest moments was when Lafleur died in 2022. He was ridiculously dominant in the 70s. He paved the way for so many of our absolute giants such as Gretzky and Lemieux but was also a gigantic inspiration for them. Not only on the ice but OFF the ice.
Agreed
This might not be a popular take here but here goes.......YES, Guy Lafleur and Marcel Dionne are legends. For some reason though, the forgotten player of that era who gets the least amount of respect is Gilbert Perreault. Imagine if Perreault played in Montreal and won 5 Cups. He'd be a hockey god in Quebec today. I always thought Perreault was the better player of the 3 and he definitely was better whenever playing in international competition than those two.
Born and raised Sabres fan. Perrault hasn’t been forgotten about in Buffalo
Back before they had the draft the montreal jr Canadian s were a farm team of montreal and got all the best players if the draft would of waited just one yr more montreal would of had Lafleur dionne and Perreault on the same team
