I have tried to play note for note what the drums are doing. As you can see I am reading my own transcription from my ipad. It isn't perfectly played but I played as close as I could until I got a decent enough take! This video should give anyone interested a good understanding of what Kevin Parker plays on the recording, both audibly and visually.

I'm learning elephant right now, but it's taking me quite a while, basically because I started playing the drums not too long ago and I still struggle with the speed on the breaks, and so on. Andreu Pavia Pardo thanks man! I'm 25 and I started when I was 7. Elephant is a hard song. Unusual for tame impala as well because it's a shuffle. I'll be releasing it eventually. what i love about you is your reading the legit sheet music for it so your getting all the parts, not to much, not too little. i do like covers that are done by ear but as I'm more of an 'ear musician' ( just made that up) but as I'm used to listening to a song and figuring out most of it but not the delicate parts that matter its great to watch u do that
