Thanks for this great overview! They are just adorable - I love the sweet little cubaris faces. I have panda kings and papayas right now, stoked on collecting more eventually!
I like these videos , I know this is a old video , but I’ve been enjoying a lot of your care guide videos on isopods , I am fairly new to the hobby , and appreciate it all the info
Very cute video! I bought 24 Cubaris murina and 3 millipedes (Centrobolus spec. 'Mosambik') and put them together. The millipedes just do very fine, but I don't see the Cubaris very often! Maybe there are to many places for hiding in there :o
Hows it going? I've had some for about a month or two but they aren't exactly thriving. I keep reading they need rely high humidity (60-70%) but idk anymore >.
@@SnekAAA you're not gonna see immediate breeding after only a month or two. Ambient humidity doesn't really matter. It's about microclimates from the moisture of the substrate.
I'd recommend higher overall humidity. More rotting wood and limestone. Good air flow. They are a good bit more finicky. Murina can take pretty decent extremes. They do well dryer with a wet spot or pretty damp with good ventilation. Duckies like consistent humidity gradient. They like to burrow to have their young so it needs to be a stable moisture.
Hello, I have Cubaris murina, I have a good substrate, cuttlebone and leaves. I want to know at what temperature cubaris murina is raised and the food they eat because it is difficult to breed this species and I have losses.
@@elcastro5000 Thank you, I will maintain it at 22 degrees Celsius. I will give them rotten wood and several kinds of vegetables to find out what they prefer.
Thanks for another good one! I’ve had mine for a few months now and no sign of breeding. Time will tell! Loved the face at 3:40. Cubaris Vader. 😏
Great video dude. These guys are such wonderful isopods.

Thank you! I have some of these arriving today, so this was helpful (and got me hyped, too, with the awesome macro shots! CUTE!)
I love your videos you make great content my friend
These are beautiful
You can get a huge culture of that for 2 dollars here in the philippines!
Great videos! You should make an enclosure or substrate video
awesome vid
Can you make a detailed care video of your other Cubaris? Like the rubber duckies?

I've just ordered some and I'm getting them tomorrow!! My first isopods, I'm so excited! They look adorable

Not a good idea for a beginner. Plus the guide in the video is not complete.
@@garyguo1585 how so? These are one of the easiest Isopods to care for. Great for beginners.
What about the video is not complete?

@@elcastro5000 then i think im doing well with the micro climates! The tub i have is doing great and my both the tub and my tank have babies in them
Nice video. Good job. When you say your first group crashed because they were too dry, was it because you did not have a 'moist' side?
nice!
Can you please make a care video on rubber duckies?
Hi sir what is other type of leaves that can i put in the enclosure together with the isopods?
Deciduous leaves. Hardwoods. So oak, elm, maple, poplar, alder, Ash, walnut.... Just to name a few.
what is their food?
Do rubber duckies have similar care as cubaris murina?

I keep them in the mid 70s. They'll eat butternut squash and repashy morning wood readily.

Great video as always. Have you noticed if the colored butt is a gender thing?
They're so small and ball up that it's hard to determine sex but I'm gonna try and get back to you on that one.
Update: it's not. It's completely variable.
