Heretic Nature aka Cycloptic Exotics:
I'm a breeder of a variety of species of reptiles, Invertebrates, and even some plants and fungi.
I made this channel to provide a free resource for both my customers and people all over the world to get to know some of these species and show how I care for them. I don't claim that the way I keep my animals is necessarily the objective best way. It's just what works for me and I hope that it helps people in their research.

Vulture Scavenging (Opossum)
Vultures doing what they do best providing a valuable service. Before this rancid opossum was stinking up the whole block and it only took them about an hour to break it down into almost nothing.

Slab Grafting Trichocereus Cactus
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 3 lety
Using the "slab" method of grafting to attach a T. macrogonus "Big Mac" mid cut to a Trichocereus PC pachanoi. Why do this? Two reasons. Why sacrifice the growth of one cactus for another? I have tons of PC and they aren't really good for much other than being ornamental and even then they are common and not that desirable or expensive. So it's worth it to graft on a much more desirable named c...

Ash Snow from Norcal Wildfires (Read Description)

Recent intense lightning storms have sparked fires all across the state. Here in the bay area the Santa Cruz Coast and Sonoma are in the most trouble. The ashes are floating all the way here to San Jose. I have made a donation to the IAFF disaster relief fund as well as to Calfire. I would also ask that my subscribers consider donating both to help preserve our favorite nature spots and to help...

Need an update on this species. Does your culture still exist?
I'm Apache and am deeply interested in the cactus but I live in Michigan now so im not in the home state, I got ahold of the national Native church and they wanted me to pay for membership and then get ahold of my tribe for some. I have all my paperwork, CIB, and tribal card but they ghosted me
YOU HAVE BEAUTIFULL CAKTUS , I REALLY LOVE CAKTUS...BLESS YOU
Hey Heretic Nature! I wanted to thank you for your service in the cactus community! you deserve a +🌵
What kind of beer was that import local or craft ? I brew a bit.
I was told it is illegal to cultivate.
In most jurisdictions yes. But it is allowed for certain groups of people and in certain municipalities.
@@elcastro5000 Fist Nations are allowed but for Ceremonial settings not for " Tripping" Man-like wow 'Did you see that ?'
He knew the caves were slated for bauxite mining, and sent the roaches to researchers and keepers on purpose, to save them - hence the name, 'conserfariam.'
They are beautiful 😻 thank you for the great video 🤩
Thanks! I was unsure what the behavior I just saw was but definitely hoped it was mating!! So glad the culture I’m trying to grow as the clean up crew for my Leachie is going to multiply!
Is it difficult to differentiate between the different species of glomeris?
Depends. Some are quite obvious others require a much closer look.
@@elcastro5000 thank you. You have inspired my interest with your education.
I have some of my own, nice vid!
4 years later still helpful! i saw these online and was very interested, glad this vid was made cause these look amazing and are really affordable
love these guys the most, getting a couple soon along with some florida orange springtails
Hello, Are you able to sell me small colony of these worms please?
Kyle is that dude at roach crossing I got all my stuff from Kyle
Peroxide work as well
Thank you so much for the video! I've had so many asking me if I ship and I had to refuse because I had no idea where to begin. Everything posted to most shipping sites involved larger animals not little buggies.
Do these guys reproduce fast?
I’ve came back to this video a few times at this point. For some reason I really want these.
😳😳😳😳😳👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Are all those psychedelic?
Jak se jmenuje ten brouk,a jak se hubi
I like the log cactus i might try that technique
try using a small paint brush to brush dry diatomaceous earth onto your plants to prevent mites. the brush helps to get the d.e. deep into the crevices of the plant. sure it makes your plants look white but the mites can't survive it and its a non-chemical treatment. but it does make new growth obvious as the new growth is fresh green which is exciting to watch.
thanks for the content! :)
How big is their tub? Do they poop on you when you pick them up?
How to root a graft sire , cut it let end dry and put in soil or cut the cactus it's grafted on too?
Are these dangerous? When they sting, can it be lethal?
I have been stung once by a 4i juvenile. Very painful but it wore off fast and I was fine. These are attributed to some deaths but they are mostly children and the elderly. To your average person I wouldn't call them lethal. That said they should be handled with care.
@@elcastro5000 thank you so much for your feedback. Actually I am not sure whether the Scorpio I encountered is the one in the video or not. You seem like an expert on this 😄 Would you mind sharing your email so that I can send the photo of it?
"Be sure to make ourselves look good, so that way the government will allow us to propagate these plants." That's not how the state works. It's all about power. If they feel too many people are consuming psychedelics and it's threatening power, that's when they crack down. With force and violence of action. The state is all about power and violence, they don't care at all about if you're being a "good little boy", only that you may threaten the status-quo. That said, anyone eating Lophophora when there are cheap fast growing cactus in large supply, is an idiot. "Church" member or not.
just found your channel now, sorry, I didn't find it abit sooner, and i am sorry it found me so late, I am thankful you love the cactus like we love the cactus!
Sick ass collection 🤟🏼. I would love one of those huge king Henry’s lol
Glad to see that I'm not the only one with the odd European earwig in my isopod enclosures XD
I always see them at night in my yard
did you ever end up having success with these? from what I've heard, most people who had them in the US ended up losing them for whatever reason.
what species of slug was hanging out in there?
Ngl I'm not sure. Molluscs aren't really my area of expertise. I'm really only good with arthropods and I'm no expert or working entomologist even with those.
@@elcastro5000 oh well, thanks for the reply though!
Great video dude. These guys are such wonderful isopods.
Really beautiful collection,brother…peace…
What size container are they inn 4in x 4in?
Am I the only person who finds this Silence of the Lambs creepy?
Aren't you worried of them hybridizing due to being together?
Hybridization has not yet been observed in Diplopoda (millipedes). It is either not possible or exceedingly rare. F1 hybrids would likely not even be fertile in the 1 in a billion chance they occurred.
Can I know where I can get some? Currently I have Glomeris marginata. I'm willing to buy or trade, I got some cool options to trade for I believe...
For a long time I have had a pretty principled stance on the channel being educational only. I don't do sales/sourcing/advertising through the channel. But I wish you luck.
Do you keep them warm?
Nah the opposite. They like it on the cooler side compared to most pods.
Compared to fruitflys how big is each species?
Compare to hydei
They rub their legs together to make the hissing sound
I love those isopods! I just ordered some. I sterilized my own oak leaves.
Still doing well? Any cool morphs off of these?
We just got some at my library as an exhibit and I am obsessed with them. They look so cool! The patterning is so beautiful for a creature that just spent its whole life living in a cave slurping on bat crap.
They are amazing!
Do you still sell these guys, it’s tough finding them in stock?
Do you sell the giant green?
