There’s a movie called “walking tall” made in 1973 that is about Buford Pussers life. In the early 2000s the rock starred in a remake that was not even close to being historically accurate.
I was just thinking was this movie based on this. It’s close but just with a casino not a hotel
@@huntercox1859 watch the walking tall movies that came out in the 70s much better historical accuracy I think their were 3 of them. Much better acting as well.
Neither was the original from 1973
None of the Walking tall series of movies is historically accurate.
@@shanewoods1980 The original from 73 was dead accurate compared to the rocks version.
Where can i watch this in full?
Locals know Pusser was on the take. The movie was not based on facts.
" This motion picture is a fictionalized account, suggestedby certain events based in the life of Buford Pusser.

If theres any people still around that actually knew Buford, either loved him, admired him, or was just plain old jealous because of the movie and his popularity. They didnt wNt the first movie filmed there because they thought it would make the citizens look bad. But when tge second one started filming, the city council of Selmer begged BCP to film there in McNairy Co. They said no thanks. You can spread runtrue rumors if you want to, but in the long run, you look foolish. Anyone who said he was " on the take" is full of i. They just heard it from somebody who heard it from somebody that knew somebody that their rotten kid got locked up and they were still mad about it. I would be ashamed if I were you. Grow up.
One of my friends, now in his 80s, has told me plenty about organized crime in the AL/MS/TN state line area. Another friend of mine around the same age told me he was involved in it & gave me info. He personally knew Toehead White. A 3rd friend of mine shared stories with me about his close relative that was in the thick of it. You don't know them Janet so who are you to call them liars? Shame on YOU.
@@dca3174: I don’t have a dog in this hunt, but I will point out that you don’t know who Janet may know either. Lots of people on both sides of the story making assumptions.
Pusser Was as big of a crook as the rest of them He was on the take of money from many different people and that Ambush was all set up
@janetphillips2875 Well, they exhumed his wife's body for a reason.....
If the results are ever published, and Pusser is exonerated, I will extend an apology.
Until then, he's the prime suspect of his wife's murder.
As a Tennessean we all grew up learning about Pusser, unless you're super young. He was a brick shithouse of a man with balls of steel.
"Walk softly and carry a big stick"
RIP Bufford Pusser
Don’t think I’d like to met the wrong side of Buford’s stick , dewana gave me a replica of his stick 30 years ago when I worked down there, she had a restaurant in adamsville then, I still have and treasure it
I can see were Elmore Leonard got the Fire in the Hole idea. Listen to the characters, Dickie, like Dickie Bennett. It is a good show.
I love that story it's got some truth to it.... But we're now learning about Buford pusser the real story... My mom was born and raised in McNairy county.. and after 61 years I just found this out... They never talked about daddy.. who was Harbert Buell Sipes ... It'd be nice if anybody could tell me about him he's buried in adamsville cemetery and that's my grandpa
What did Harbett do that would have been "talked about"?
This one reminds me "Walking Tall" movie
The "Walking Tall" movies were based about him, yes. Some parts are fictional.
@@leanajo754 About 15% was "Based" on the truth. The rest was an embellishment to sell movie tickets.
I like Tim Smith.
These people are fools
"He campaigned not to use a gun" thats both insanely heroic and stupid at the same time 😂
He did talk Louise hathcock and her dishonesty
Mike Elam has made a career out of attacking Pusser. But notice how Elam won't acknowledge how evil Louise Hathcock was. Why is that?
Pusser is a American legend in my book
Louise Hathcock is Mike Elam,Aunt.
@@user-yi8by7ve5d: He claims to be of no relation to Louise. I confronted him about it because I had heard rumors that Louise was his grandmother and also his aunt. He denied it. So who’s to know the truth?
@user-yi8by7ve5d
Well, that certainly explains a lot. I guess you forgot to mention that while he's bashing Pusser. He's nothing but an ambulance Chaser trying to get rich off of a book bullshit. I've seen people like him my whole career. trying to make a living off of somebody else's heroics when they didn't have the balls to do it themselves.
Career? He might make some money off his recent book, but he's never gonna get a payday worthy of being called a career
You can do better discovery . People like facts . You based this from a movie
No kidding. This was a joke.
Crooks in north Mississippi bad too
This episode is a joke. Mostly fiction for entertainment purposes.
So you was there? Humm;
@jeffmalone1502 It's still a freaking joke, Jeff. Do just a modicum of research, dude.
This "episode" was only made simply to exploit the likes of YOU.
I guess everyone on here live sawandwas there.shouldnt comment if you where not there.next people are going to say pusser didnt drive a Corvette
Well, to be fair, he didn't drive a corvette for very long.
I’ve heard that Louise was Mike Elam aunt , and if that’s true of course he’s not going to talk bad about her , one scumbag don’t talk about another scumbag,
Elam has no relations in McNairy County.
He did become acquainted with a grandson of Hathcock that provided information. The grandson would have some bias, obviously.
Lies!!!!!
Ok. Be careful drjvjng. 😘😘😘
Fake program
Fake is the Mike Elam podcast if that's your thing
Yes Yes Yes! All these bad mouthing folks of people are either people that he busted or their family! Mike Elam is so FOS and needs to do something useful.
@@jeffreykidd4248shduhehehdhdhdhdbdhdBahahahha-keep pretending
@@jeffreykidd4248there sure wont be any legends of that piece of 💩. He was sheriff of Benton Co. AR. But funny it didnt last long. I guess the booster seat he sat in was too embarrassing.
If you came to McNairy County you will get the real story about him. 80% of that movie is B.S. He didn't take anything but payoffs.
BULLLLL. KRAP Stop lying
Yea, that is what I am learning. Some of it is pure funny, in how the other LEO called him out on it. I think they are exhuming Pauline's body, due to they think she was murdered, maybe by Bufford. Crazy they would do this after 50 some years.
Is that why he was shot, beat, stabbed? Because a took payoffs? As a Tennessean, you're full of shit.
@@Dukiehouse There wasn't anything to shut down.
@Dukiehouse My family has lived in McNairy County for over 70 years we heard about it as well. The residents of my county know the truth about the tall tales and falsehoods about this "story" if you'd call it that.

The moonshiners show is the biggest bunch of BS there ever was. But from what I hear Buford Pusser’s story is just as much BS.
This is BS!! Prove your facts!
Watch Mike Elam, he has the receipts.
