  • This week at Project Build Stuff we are building a DIY fire pit seating area. My backyard needed a serious makeover and my old fire pit was looking rough. Check out how we transformed it into an awesome outdoor fire pit seating area for less then $400.

This is the first firepit video I could actually relate to as a simple and practical one, something which an average person like me can build in a weekend !!
I also liked the way this guy doesnot use heavy tools and costly materials or extensive measurements unlike some other landscaper youtubers !!

Just discovered your channel and it’s absolutely amazing … wow… easy explanations and no cutting corners or lying on the labor intensity some things may require. Probably one of the best CZcams suggestions in a looong time! Now I can binge watch all your videos and scare my kids about future projects they are going to “volunteer” assisting me with 😂😂

Amazing! I plan on doing this too but with the posts set with concrete in the whiskey barrel planters...I just can't commit to putting the posts in the ground set in concrete since we will sell in a few years! Plus pretty flowers are a bonus :) If I don't want to dig up the grass to avoid dirt/grass disposal and back pain, can I use the cardboard method of killing the grass? Outline the area, set cardboard down and wait for the grass to die, add landscaping fabric and then pea gravel? Or would it be best to just dig up? Your project turned out great. Thank you!

How big did you make the outer circle of the pit? And how wide is your brick fire pit itself? I’m struggling to decide how much room I need for the seating area. How far out to dig from the fire pit for the outer circle.

Glad to see you put the weed block under the edgers! On your curb appeal video I was talking back to you saying, “Noooo...put the weed block under the edgers.” I learned the hard way when weeds grew up right at the edge and I had to redo mine. Nice fire pit, but you didn’t include in the cost the chairs. Also, have you used the pit yet? I really like the look of the gravel. How do you find the chair legs and gravel working out? My only concern would be having the chair legs displace the gravel and rip holes in the weed block.
