Hanging String Lights Around My Fire Pit! I Used Whiskey Barrel Planters
Vložit
- čas přidán 8. 04. 2021
- Here's an easy way to hang outdoor string patio lights using planter posts. I'll show you how to save money and time. I'm not using messy concrete either! If you want to upgrade your patio, lawn, or fire pit, patio string lights offer one of the biggest bangs for the buck! Whiskey barrels work perfect for this because their weight and width provide great stability for the posts that the lights hang from. I'm trying to create the ultimate fire pit patio area for my back yard so I'm going to be working on lots more outdoor projects. I definitely need a grilling station and probably some concrete tables. I put an update on the 4x8 planter build in this video as well. 👍 SUBSCRIBE: bit.ly/2Iy7PK3

Agreed. Really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Same here.

I agree! I subscribed and I am going to try this. I have wanted some of these for so long, but was afraid of that ole concrete....lol
I came for the lights but stayed for the laughs. Thank you sir!

LOL! Same here! I got some good tips, and some LOL's, best combo 😂
Me too! So awesome
I have to say, I agree with these comments. I've been a single Mom and now a single homeowner trying to do projects ( I cant afford to pay someone, so I do what I can with these DIY projects) I loved seeing you with your girls. My Dad always helped me with projects and he would always tell everyone how I did things myself, he was so proud of me and not being affraid of tackling a project. He passed in 2021 and I miss him soooo much. This light project will be my first project without him amd my Mom. They were always here to help me 😢
Keep up with those girls helping, they'll cherish the memories and the lessons
Thank you so much. I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad last year. I understand how difficult it is to work on projects alone when you’ve always done them with your Dad.
Earned a sub for working with your daughters. I am a new dad to a beautiful baby girl and can't wait to do stuff like this with her. Blessed men.
Thanks and congratulations! Very true.

I truly laughed out loud at that!
Snort laugh! 😂😂😂😂
HAXMAN is entertaining, “fun-ny,” and dare
I say it, I consider him family. I love this channel, and I predict that he’ll have his own “family friendly” show very soon.
Thank you for inspiring the DIY community.
Thank you so much!

I really enjoyed watching this 🌷 now I gotta make my husband do it 😂😅
“Never mind, don’t do what I said. Do it the other way”. Legit!
Subbed!
Nothing more rewarding then everyone in the family contributing to a home project.
Thanks for putting words to another reason watching the video felt so good.
I love your sense of humor 🤣 its a fun not boring at all🤣🤣🤣
It so wholesome watching you show your daughter most girl don’t get the opportunities to learning thing like this
I was my dad's shadow learned so much
Yooo! I came here to learn to string lights on my deck and laughed the whole video. Total laugh fest, comedy gold with education . Listen up CZcams people this is how it’s done.
I'm 45 and have 3 daughters as well. After watching three of your videos, I now know what kind of man I need to be. I have been letting my family down these past few years and it's time to become a manly man (I just ordered the pocket knife you used to cut up the kindling in the fire pit video). As a first step, I've just sold my home in Commie-fornia and will be moving to South Carolina, where I can now live the American Dream. Thank you for inspiring me, Haxman!
Good luck! Glad you are getting out of that liberal hell hole!
Learning to disagree with out name calling would be a gift to your family.
Awwwwww! 👍👍👍
The fact that you think getting a pocket knife and moving to South Carolina to make u a “manly man“ rather than just spend more quality time with your family I understand why you would be letting you family down. Best of luck with your adventures tho ig.
@Beckett Ferguson Thank you, it has worked out well!
New nickname for my hammer “the persuader” 😂.. I wasn’t looking for a new project, the project chose me. I hope this channel blows up, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot.
Thanks so much!
@@HAXMAN it looks like the channel has blown up with 102k subscribers. Congrats on figuring it all out.
I was searching all over for a way to do this without concrete for all the reasons you mentioned. It’s messy, it’s permanent and irreversible. Loved your video
Watching you with your daughter made me miss my dad so much. I helped him do all kinds of work around the house including shingling, flooring and some plumbing. He never treated me differently and was my biggest supporter when I joined the military (outside of my mom). My dad was my best friend and I took care of him till the very end after my mom died. I wish you both the best.
Lovely
Same, I was always helping my dad as a kid with whatever project he was working on. Love that the girls like driving the tractor, too!!!
Love the fact your daughters knows how to operate a tractor.
that's how life used to be....
Right! Some men don't even know how to operate a simple tool. Today's society.
That’s how we roll in the south. EVERY girl gets on a tractor by 5
@@tracygleason103 that’s right. My sister and I both learned from my dad.

He’s handy, he’s funny, and he can budget!! You cannot go wrong with this man!!
For some reason….he reminds me of chip Gaines but he’s more fun to watch. This guy needs his own show for sure. Lol.
Yes, I'm in love ❤️💕❤️ lol
LOL... "It's my yard and I know where the cord is going to be." Like A BOSS!!!!! I love you channel, makes me smile!
My favorite part of this awesome video was how Haxman had his daughters help out. That girl knows more about driving a tractor than I do!
Brother, this channel is gonna be huge. A real guy saying all the silly crap that all of us do with excellent production quality. I don't need to put up string lights anytime soon but chose to watch you because I keep laughing at your videos. Love it, man.
Thank you for teaching your girls how to use the tractor!
love the fact you had your girl helping you .love your video your funny it kipped me watching all the way .
This might be the first time I ever heard a reference to something from Jack Daniels being used to keep anything from being "tipsy". HAHA
Yeah you need to go viral. Great content, great personality, and good dad jokes
Thank you very much! 😁

Just want to thank you for this video. You helped me earn my “man card” at home by putting together a classy, easy to adjust lighting project that really made my yard!!!
Awesome!
Uh, everything about this video was perfection. From your personality, to your editing, to the instructions. I'm absolutely doing this to my garden/firepit area. Subscribed!
Me too 😂
Ur a great dad. Thank you for raising great humans.
Your so funny.. learned something and entertaining.. Kim must love you🔥⭐️💕
"You're gonna want a couple of really flimsy 20 year old saw horses to set your heavy planter on." You're killing me! I swear, I teared up a little bit on that one. Truth! And also comedy genius! 😂😂😆
Only thing I wish is you showed off the finished product for longer.
The sarcastic commentary just puts this above all other building tutorials lol
This is your project, do it the way you want..Carry on.
I have just stumbled across the greatest dad channel lmfao
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that your girls have skills! My dad treated me the same way, I’m so thankful for what I’m able to do with power tools and diy projects.
Me too! I love shopping at Lowe's and hardware stores. Tools kick ass!
@@angieyoung1942 One year for my birthday, I looked at EVERY tool at Sears. (Met at least two shifts who periodically checked in on me and answered questions about tools I had never known. about).
Mine too! I left home knowing how to change my own oil and file my own taxes. Good job, Dad! 💗
Same here!! My dad taught me everything and now I am refurbishing a vintage trailer BY MYSELF!! Yay for dads!!
my mom being a single mom is what taught me i can do anything. she wasn't a pro or anything but was able to get stuff done. having that attitude along with the internet is how i learned everything i know. i lived with my boyfriend and two other guys for 2 years and *I* was the handyman in the house 😂😂
This is great. It's very close to what I want to do in our fire pit.
Subbed just for the fact your kids are part of the project and have your trust
Your daughters drove the tractor, so i hit like. You couldn't cut the cable, so i subscribed.
It’s so remarkable where the internet leads me and I just happily slide right on down the rabbit hole because it’s interesting.
You are totally my favorite funny builder man. Love how your babies can ride a tractor. God bless you.
Everyone out there fills their planter boxes with quickrete concrete not thinking how it will eventually drain. Loved that you used concrete blocks!
I love that you ran the electrical like you did. Your yard. You know where it is... Haha. Good man
Your beautiful girls are so lucky to be taught DIY projects like this. They will be not have to call for a handyman every time when a problem pops up.
...and the boys can learn cooking and stain removal!
Lighting system is ok. But what I truly enjoyed is your teaching and interaction with your daughters.
My dad did the same with me and I'm almost in tears because I miss him a lot. Good Dad!!
It is so fun to watch your videos. I love your sense of humor. I bet you could do this with solar lights too. Thanks for keepong it real.
I don't know about you but I think theez flowerz are juss absolutely lovely 👌
Made me laugh great personality.
I have to say I'm jealous of your daughters. My dad was the kind to just leave us with mom cleaning the house, instead of teaching us to do real work, mostly because of my mom. Now I live in the south straight from the caribbean and I have to wait for my bf to do stuff like this around the house and actually teach me. Love the whole project and it looks awesome!
CONCRETE BLOCKS, GENIUS!!!!
I'm guessing you were not a bully in school, your personality can get you out of any situation, thanks for the info bro, subscribed😁
Came here to learn how to make these planters, halfway through I'm a little teary eyed because I lost my dad as a little kid and you're everything I imagined having a dad would be like. Keep up the good work, you have some lucky daughters.
Wow. Thank you so much. That is so kind of you to say. I’m so sorry for your loss. I am the lucky one. 😉

My favorite part of this entire video was your daughters helping you. As a girl dad, I love it when my girl wants to help with projects and I hope she never stops wanting to help me out
Such a lovely comment? ❤️
Loved your DIY video and seeing your children help you. Made my heart flutter.

SO CLEVER!!!! Literally blew my mind 🤯!! Been trying for like 6 years to figure out a way to get pretty lights in our back yard without it looking cheesy. So glad I stumbled upon your channel!
The production quality of this video is unreal. Instantly subscribed.

INSTEAD OF DEALING with electrical cord color issues, seeing is believing, jus paint em as u did the posts u painted adding zero costs and zero shopping time for certain cord color- works easy! Ur planters are the very best and Lowe’s should carry and sell YOUR DESIGN QUALITY POST PLANTERS instead of their made in - - - - - crap options! Thank u for making simple outta enlightening design while being cost effective! Best video we had seen for making these planter / light barrels for yard or driveway / walkway - improvements ever! Again THANK U MUCH
Thumbs up for "I like to tangle things up as much as I can".

Its nice to see a kid thats not sucked into a videa game. This project reminds me of my riding mower trailer beer cooler that I fondly call the bar wagon!

Good job, thanks for the laughs. Now to show my husband 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great job installing planter post lights!!!
I find a lots of rocks in my yard every time I dig for planting. I would use them to fill the buckets. You can also fill with sand and top with some shells or other ornaments. The sand will also be good to stick mini flags for the 4th, and other flags for each season.
WTG buddy, with no swearing to boot wow, looks great.
Glad to see parents involving the kids. Good job dad, and nice work.....
man U rock, one cool dude or dad 😎
