In the west we have forest fires and the smoke from those fires (even 2 or 3 states away) clog up the cabin filter pretty quick. I change mine every spring. Thanks to this video, I can do it without breaking any plastic.

Took my 2020 Gladiator in for it's 20,000 mile service. The Service Advisor suggested changing the cabin air filter for $100 dollars. I think I can handle that myself.
They quoted me $51 today. Filter, $22 and labor about $20.
Ask for wipers... lol

Yea same here, the only reason I’m thinking of doing it is cause I want it reported on the carfax so if I have any issues in the future they won’t void my warranty. I might just buy the filter for $20 and see if they give a discount for it

Ditto. My dealer just quoted $100 to replace a $20 part and 3 mins of labor. Buying the K&N!
They quoted me $80 and I knew there was no way this was more than $20 and a few mins of labor lol

I e been wondering about this filter after hitting some mud pretty hard and have been smelling mud ever since then. Cleaned the engine and air box but still runs rough and can still smell mud.

Note my 2013 JK has two little ones and are not to hard to replace in a similar way. I had to start the car and have the air on to get the motorized duct to stay out of the way. Maybe I need to do a video on it?

Filter door won’t close filters too big... what can I do? Trim filters?
The door should close without any interference. Double check that you have the correct filter, and are installing it in the correct orientation.
The dealer will pull the cabin air filter out to show it needs replaced. However if you tell them yes.., they charge you labor. Flat rate..
Always tell them no. Labor for a cabin air filter is absurd.

Yes! That definitely could be the cause of a bad musty smell in your Jeep. Pull it out and take a peak at it.
No, it's not! Chrysler Jeep is notorious for that wet dog/foot smell in their a/c systems. My '95 Intrepid had to be taken in numerous times for them to "clean" something. It was a known problem. My 2014 Jeep Patriot had the same issue but I said F it as I was getting rid of it anyway (with 40K miles on it). Fortunately my 2021 JL hasn't had this issue .. yet.
Mine was NASTY!!!

The JK's came from the dealerships without the cabin filters, can you believe that? All that money spent on the vehicle and Jeep couldn't include a $15 filter.🤔✌🏽
My 2013 has one, actually two little ones.
If your jk doesn't have AC or a recirculation mode on the HVAC system it didn't come with a cabin air filter.
Idk why it seems every car u have to bend and squeeze the filter to get them out n in. Then all the shit dislodges and falls out of it. Most of these need like a half an inch more room and that wouldnt happen. I think when engineers design stuff the right hand doesnt talk to the left hand.

Well they charge you about $60 for the filter at the dealer then they charge you half an hour labor which is $135 an hour so it's actually a pretty good deal I guess at 100 lol yeah they have a minimum charge of half an hour It's ridiculous man and yell the candies going to help make sure he takes his time to put it in so they don't make you feel too bad when they pulled up front and you realize you got screwed What brand are y'all finding that is the better brand wish I could find a friend but I can't find a friend that fits a JL Rubicon 2018 ? I'm sure the mopar won't be expensive The one when I can find is like a pure flow doesn't look like very good brand but what brand are y'all finding That is the best for the buck
