i love seeing a more youthful in age young lady enjoy and decorate her home with more traditional, classic decor items. I think we will see more and more younger generational individuals swing back to antiques and filling their homes with such treasures.
Unfortunately, so many vintage shops across the country have closed. It can be quite the scavenger hunt to find the right pieces now vs. 10, 20 years ago.
@@Person-mh6xqcome to places like California and Washington State, Idaho. I’ve had elderly friends nearly give beautiful antiques away. Sadly places like Chicago and across to the west of US don’t seem to have an appreciation of antiques.
I wish I knew where to advertise so beautiful items can find new homes. It can be soul destroying to have to pay to have someone take treasured items when one knows they are meant to continue.
This girl just LOVES her space and I know the feeling because that's how happy I am with mine. Is there anything better than waking up in a space you love, brushing your teeth in a bathroom you love, looking forward to making your morning coffee in the kitchen you love, walking through the front door and sighing that sigh of "ahhhh sanctuary"? I don't think so. Except maybe knowing that your favourite people are in the same home with you. Absolutely precious! Live is good because of the little things. Good for you girl! Don't lose that spirit.

Don't know WHERE to begin! First, I love seeing a single mom show real design for real life! Second, she looks so much like Anne Hathaway! Third, her design aesthetic is so SPOT on and has so much great inspo!
Fabulous home but even more than that is her enthusiasm and energy about decorating and the "hunt" for her treasures that is contagious! As a single Mom in NYC with a child : that is not an easy path and give her full credit and beyond for the challenges that brings but somehow she pulls it all off effortlessly -- or at least seemingly effortlessly ! Thanks for the tour !

What a beautiful space. The antique secretary desk just makes the room. The history next to the new sofas is such a perfect blend of old and new. Love all her curated treasures. The oval marble dining table is an amazing find!!! As a single Mom who raised my son alone, I so feel the joy and love in her heart for James. My son is now 51!!!!! Where did the time go. But raising him was a total joy. Bless them both . She has made a little sanctuary of peace and love.

What a beautiful, sunny apartment. Not pretentious…lovely and perfect and cozy. If I could afford to buy a place precisely like that in NYC, I would live there. There is something so cool about living in a busy, lively metropolitan city like NYC and then being able to escape to a little cozy nest like this one. Happy for her and her son.

You have to hang your sons artwork and add his school picture to the corner of his work so in ten years you can see how stinking cute he was when he painted it….I still have my 40 year old kids work on my walls along with the grandkids work…Hugs Carolyn from Columbus Georgia. Agree with the comments. Bless her. She is trying hard and enthusiastically talking about her child. As others say being a single mother in NYC cannot be easy. If she recently moved in she can make changes to the 90's kitchen etc. Buying somewhere to have a home for her son was an important move.

I love her style, classy and funky at the same time. Her apartmant looks a lot like mine, she has just more gold and vintage wood pieces in it. I am really envious tho... Some people are really blessed in life with sisters, kids, good friends... I have no one. But she also seems to be a go-getter, not everyone can afford living in NY, especially not like this and with a kid added in.

I noticed on your bar cart that you had liquor stored on glass bottles….you need to check and see if those bottles are leaded crystal. It the glass is leaded crystal the lead will leach into the contents of the bottles

Thank goodness one of the bathrooms has a window. I don’t get it when New Yorkers spend millions on their apartment but can’t afford to have a window in the bathroom.
